my long, unbroken obsession with taking moody iPhone snaps in airports

2. CDG, Paris, France - ✈ CDG - HKG
3. TWA Hotel, JFK, New York, USA - ✈ JFK - SFO
4. OSL, Oslo, Norway - ✈ OSL - AMS

All shot in beautiful iPhone native RAW with @halide for that natural grain and crisp detail.

@sdw @halide is that native raw as opposed to proraw?
@sdw I love the colors on these! Did you use Darkroom for these?
@jonathan No, Darkroom isn't usable for me. I use Lightroom, begrudgingly.
@sdw I’m really hoping that when Photomator adds support for file system access they will also add library support. I will jump from Adobe in a heartbeat.
@sdw lovely snaps Seb. You have a grading recipe you’d like to share?
@simonharper these ones are old native RAW which I doubt is worth the writeup today. But I do love their look
@sdw They do look great agreed. Would still love you to do a grading vid/tutorial one day.
@sdw can you explain how to add grain to photos taken from iPhone?
@guicane I don't, these were shot in native RAW which is pretty grainy.
@sdw sure but I meant if I want to achieve that the phone will the to use night mode, I will turn it off and then it’ll become a dark mess, so I just bring up the exposure?
@guicane @sdw You could cheat and add it in post, in Lightroom…
@sdw A part of travel I don’t miss: waiting in airports. Except in Shanghai & Tokyo when I needed 30 minutes to find a souvenir coffee cup 🙂 And how did you get a photo from the 1960’s TWA Terminal (in JFK?) with a Lockheed Constellation, my favorite airplane to fly as a child?

@sdw I would love to see a write up of you explaining your process of taking and editing photos.

Every photo you post look sick, but I have no idea how to get at least similar results.

@sdw LOVE the TWA hotel at JFK. Kind of expect to run in to a young Roger Moore or Peter Sellers at the bar.
@sdw The second and third have this lovely vintage air to them, like glimpses into another slice of time.
@lumiklovstad @sdw True - the third picture looks like it's taken out of a glossy paper magazine TWA ad from the 60's.
@sdw album covers, one and all
@sdw amazing. I really have a habit of shooting monochrome pics with my iPhone during summer if the light is really harsh and creates super contrast.
@sdw cool pictures! Eero Saarinen's TWA terminal definitely lends itself to be photographed
@sdw Sort of like the 'liminal space' aesthetic. Great photos!
@ninokadic @sdw yep that is what it looks like
@sdw @Gargron What/where is the “1962” image from? Share more …. !! Love this.
@sdw how’d you go back in time
@sdw those snaps kills, well done ! It's kinda sad that all of them are in portrait but i guess it only makes my new desktop image more special haha
@sdw oh the itch to reorganize those cauches in shot 2. Hehe.
@sdw Was anyone patronizing the TWA Hotel? It’s a magnificent rehab with eye-popping prices and IME chronic service issues.
@sdw which year are you from?
@sdw Where did you see a Super Constellation?!
@sdw Ooooh, it's a static display I think. I was so confused!
@sdw these are awesome—specifically, where’s the third one? Where are there still TWA planes flying, heralded by flip board clocks?
@sdw
1962 is a trippy shot, right?
Given the nature of the photo, the curved furniture and colors, for a brief moment I thought maybe the photo was taken in 1962...wonderful shots!👏 📷
