I’m happy to be here. I’m old and grumpy. When I first signed up for F*ceb**k I described my politics as, Social Liberal, Fiscal Conservative, and Loose Libertarian. I see very few true conservatives and libertarians these days. I used to enjoy calm rational political discourse based on facts. Blind hate has replaced reasoned disagreement. Let’s bring back tolerance, facts, and kindness.
Religion?No thanks, I’ve had enough. I’m atheist, recovering Christian. I have no regrets about the religion in my background. Practically? Church was a nice place that taught me some values and made me question other values.
Politics?I’ve heard too many people say, “I hate politics.” Yeah, we all do but you need to think about policy. Policy affects us, all of us. Ok, so who makes policy… say it with me “politicians.”

I was so high the other night that I forgot what I ordered from the Mexican restaurant. Obviously I ordered too much food. I picked a huge chimi burrito looking thing and decided I wanted 1/3. I could not cut it open. I remember thinking damn I’ll bet the center will be so sweet and tender. As I tried to bite the end so I could get to the delicious filling… I remember that I ordered Mexican street corn. It was delicious

I remember listening to George Carlin talking about being the class clown.

I didn’t realize till years later that I was the ghost writer for the class clown. I’d sit close enough to a disruptive kid and I’d whisper witty comments and the class clown would blurt out my line.

Even today I can feel the satisfaction when my line got a huge laugh in class. Content in my anonymity.

This might seem like an old and completely discussed topic. It sure seems to me that Putin has very much won on his campaign against US democracy. In 2016 Russian agents not only worked against Clinton and for Tr*mp, their larger goal was to pit us against ourselves, to foment anger, and division.

It appears as though China has been stepping up its game of pitting us against ourselves.

Sadly one political party sees fascism as a path to power.
