this story is wild. Tesla misrepresented the range of their cars for decades, then created a team specifically dedicated to undermining customer efforts to schedule appointments and get help

Tesla’s secret team to suppress thousands of driving range complaints

About a decade ago, Tesla rigged the dashboard readouts in its electric cars to provide “rosy” projections of how far owners can drive before needing to recharge, a source told Reuters.

the Tesla office had a little party every time they made it difficult for a customer to get help for a problem only created because Tesla misrepresented their product ability and quality
hard to believe that this scale of active misrepresentation doesn't pique the interest of the FTC

very innovative, sir!

please wow us with some additional innovation, sir!

It's so funny how Musk companies get lauded for endless innovation but they can't do extremely basic customer service.

Tesla Solar is the worst culprit. Folks dole out big bucks then get a giant middle finger from support:

Ghosted by Tesla: solar roof customers describe nightmare customer service

Insider spoke with 14 Tesla Solar Roof and solar panel customers. Tesla's lack of communication "is infuriating for a $60,000 product," one said.

Starlink broadband also has notoriously shitty customer service. With folks who complain of being wait listed for more then a year, then are completely ghosted by support when they ask for a refund.

the most "innovative" companies in America can't answer basic emails:

Elon Musk’s Starlink Still Can’t Seem To Answer Basic Customer Support Emails

We’ve noted for a while now how Elon Musk’s Starlink low-orbit satellite broadband service isn’t going to have the impact many think. For one thing, the service can currently only provide…

@KarlBode
His government contracts and Space-X are going to make it nearly impossible to investigate this in the manner it needs. Deals with the devil have been made by All including the most recent charging station use agreement.
Dan Probst on Twitter

“Last Thursday the Tesla solar panels on my home roof caught on fire. Almost a week has gone by and, despite repeated attempts , I have yet to be able to connect with anyone at Tesla regarding the cause of the fire, repairs and the condition of the remaining panels. Unbelievable”

@SarahOestreich Telsa solar is a dumpster fire on installations and customer support, yet that kind of thing is rarely mentioned in articles lauding his innovation
@KarlBode when I was working for an environmental org and it was still SolarCity, there seemed to be a lot of interest from people in that world, appropriately or not. Then it came out the company was (maybe?) insolvent, and then the Tesla acquisition and subsequent lawsuit alleging misrepresentations by Musk prior to the purchase—though I should note he did win that one. The whole thing seemed shady from the jump so let’s just say that I’m not exactly surprised
@KarlBode I can’t believe the guy using the poop emoji in his answers to the press would do that!😱
@KarlBode Very Creative Accounting, Sir! Where do you get these incredible Ideas, Sir?
@Louis_Renault so much innovation everywhere you look
@KarlBode Stories like this should give anybody pause if they're looking at Tesla for an EV. There are plenty of alternatives from non-hyperbolic auto makers.
@KarlBode These are the great great grandchildren of the industrialists who thought 12 year olds working for 20 hours a day was good for "building character". Kill it with fire.
@imastrangertoo child labor is extremely innovative, what's wrong with you, socialist
@KarlBode they are very, very good at making it difficult for their customers to get any kind of support. It took me three weeks to get an appointment to have my solar panels taken down while I get a new roof.
@KarlBode similar to what VW did. Now lets see if the penalty if any is on the same scale.
@KarlBode @dcjohnson looking forward to participating in the obvious class action that will result from this. #fuckmusk
@KarlBode
🥥 Today's story about #ElonMusk's fuckery of #Tesla customers just reinforces his #BadBoss cred.
What wine goes with Musk when we #EatTheRich? 🥥

@KarlBode

"Inside the Nevada team’s office, some employees celebrated canceling service appointments by putting their phones on mute and striking a metal xylophone, triggering applause from coworkers who sometimes stood on desks."

WTAF is wrong with these people? It's a f*cked up cult.

@KarlBode That is wild! I think I will cancel my cyber truck order. Sadness…
@KarlBode yeah yeah, keeping buying electric cars from this idiot's company.
