Abbott's Billion-Dollar Barrier

Texas’ border wall is rearing its head—concerns about wildlife, public thrift, and property rights notwithstanding.

The Texas Observer
@TexasObserver It’s wild to consider how furiously the funds for this were committed while actual TX infrastructure (power, roads, etc.) struggle under their own weight. This is especially so when compared to their glacial commitment of any sort of funding (or even acknowledgement) of broader environmental projects and policies — stuff that would ostensibly help shore up water and food supplies, help cities deal with heat, etc. Humanism aside, even the economics of this just seem dumb.
