David ZaslavskyI am reminded of a fantasy book series I read (and very much enjoyed) where, shall we say, the characters learn about the behavior of that world's dragons and find it to be quite similar in many ways to the real-world behavior of cats 😛

Cats _store_ gravity. That's why they're always knocking things onto the floor - when a cat knocks an item down, they store some of the gravitational potential energy internally. You notice that sometimes, like when you go to pick up a skinny looking cat and they weigh 92 pounds.
Thing is, it builds up inside them, much like when you drink a soda - the cat sits down someplace, relaxes, and suddenly "burps" out a cloud of excess gravity that crushes what they're sitting on.
