Oh, you saw the article where the studios proposed to pay an extra for one day of work and then scan their likeness and use it royalty free on an ongoing basis too?
That's the one.
What an excellent username you have. Very inspirational!
Oh, we have to pay them, because a rising tide lifts all boats.
Unless owners want to raise their benefits. Then most boats have to get lower. Don't worry, they aren't drowning. They must have gills already, the way most of them live.

Those 'copyright infringement is theft' notices really annoy me.
If you take my loaf of bread or my car, I don't have them anymore. That's theft. If I lend you my album or movie, and you copy it, I still have it (it's 'non-rival' as the lawyers say) - that's NOT theft.
OK, you might have gone out and bought the album or whatever if I hadn't lent it to you, which might have given a tiny benefit to those sharing that extra profit. Just as when I lend my neighbours my lawnmower, or invite them round to dinner, maybe I deprive some lawnmower manufacturer or shop or farmer a tiny part of their income. But nobody calls that 'theft'.
Indeed, we really need to buy less and share more, not only for environmental reasons, but because sharing is a good, natural part of human life.
If a huge multinational's business model depends on curtailing good, wholesome aspects of human life - then maybe it should change its business model?
I think we can dub that "The Mnuchin Effect."
