@gamesbymanuel Unity fits the bill, technically (ever since they acquired Bolt), but even then it's an incredibly complex tool... it's the only engine I have extensive experience with, so that'd be my pick, but not necessarily my recommendation, heh.

Any other engine that comes to mind is already on your radar, I think; there's also still Construct, but that one does come with a subscription, I just found out

@DareLooks I've used Unity for work for a long time now. It is very powerful, but I find it overwhelming. I know I'd get stuck tweaking things and going back to 3D modeling, and miss the point here which was finding something I could quickly prototype ideas with and participate in game jams.

There's also still Clickteam Fusion, but it looks very outdated compared to something like GDevelop, heh

@DareLooks I hadn't considered that one! The trailer on the page is from 9 years ago, but their youtube channel announced updates very recently.
