You probably don't think about #sewer #rat #ecology. Or rather, you probably don't want to think about it. But Guo et al. (2023) did in this comprehensive review. This type of work is important for #public #health and control of #invasive #species. Rats prefer: ๐ narrow pipes, ๐ low water flow, ๐ older construction materials, ๐ disrepair leading to nooks and crannies, ๐ being near to houses and restaurants, ๐ organic matter, for instance from sink grinders. ๐ https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11252-022-01292-x
