@roxiqt Twitter has been grossly overrated as a tool for information. I still remember being shocked when CNN and the like start showing trending tweets during newscasts.
I think it was more like a crutch. A way barely operational news outlets to limp along.
@roxiqt OFC it is.
#ApartheidEmeraldBoy & #SpaceKaren just wants to burn
to the ground as a flex against trans people since his ex is not whappily together with a trans woman.
@roxiqt it probably is. Been saying that since I saw this:
Musk's ex asked him to buy and then delete Twitter. Point blank.

@roxiqt I think it can be, and is likely both.
He is definitely and deliberately trying to limit messaging against his interests in the platform.
The ways he is trying to do that is by making stupid, bone headed decisions that keeps breaking that platform.
Billionaires will always protect their own interests over everyone else’s.
Billionaires are not super-geniuses playing n-dimensional chess. They are often dumb fucks that lucked or bullied themselves into a fortune.
Especially when he goes out of his way to suck up to weird fascists because they’re the ones who tell him he’s cool.
He’s a deeply sad and pathetic trust fund brat who never got over not being cool, and is still trying really hard to seem cool to the teenagers who laughed at him 40 years ago.
I’m kinda into the conspiracy theory that Thiel is using him to kill Twitter.
@roxiqt @fringemagnet I think Hanlon’s Razor applies:
“Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity.”
@roxiqt
From my point of view that makes little sense.
If my intention was to spread more fascism, birdsite is a great place to do that.
I would therefore continue to turn birdsite into a pressure cooker for hate and extremism.
That's what "the algorithm" is good for: You can automatically silence annoying opinions, push more extreme views, weld together groups with similar opinions.
It is not a communication tool. If someone else decides who is heard and who is not, that is not communication. It's "reuse of provided text bites for propaganda".
