Big debate in the family over when/how to wet your toothbrush. Liam and I are wet / paste / a little more wet. The others are shocked by the second wetting.
@lexfri 🤯 really?? doesn’t that rinse off the toothpaste? what is the benefit? i have so many questions
@lexfri I’m with the boys on this one.
@lexfri LOL watch it or you may find yourself on @RecDiffs
@lexfri dentists say never to wet. There is enough water in the toothpaste already.
@lexfri Used to second wet, but lately just been wet/paste/teeth

@lexfri
No, you’re doing it right.

I’m currently accepting my kid as a post brush brush-surper when I’m a head dunker.

@lexfri if things don’t work out between Erin and me it’s because eighteen years into our relationship, I still don’t understand her preference to toothpaste and THEN wet.

(Your second wetting is redundant and insane as well. Next you’ll tell me you keep a family cup in the bathroom too. 🤢)

@caseyliss gets the tooothpaste slidier bro

But happy for you to do you

Don’t yuck my wet/paste/wet yum

@caseyliss @lexfri No wetting, except to rinse off the toothbrush after use! Why would you add water, your mouth is full of the stuff already?!
@jamesthomson insufficient suds without the application of additional water!!
@caseyliss Your mouth is clearly not as moist as mine, it must be all the podcasting!
@jamesthomson @caseyliss @lexfri Ah James, I knew you were a sensible gentleman! Why waste water?
@caseyliss @lexfri Erin is correct (as usual). Paste, then wet. This is the way.
@lexfri I do only the second wetting. It works.
@lexfri List me under “shocked by first wetting.”
@lexfri how about rinse or no rinse after brushing and spitting out the toothpaste?

@Macbiff I rinse with the @siracusa family cup

JK, I used to rinse as a hand cupper but now no longer rinse at all

@lexfri wait. No. Paste / wet. What’s the first wet for???
@lexfri Toothpaste, then wet. To everyone who thinks the toothpaste will get washed off, I inject the toothpaste into the bristles and use a soft flow of water. If the toothbrush is already wet, it's harder to get the toothpaste to stick. That's how I've been doing it for as long as I can remember.
@lexfri Even more inexplicable is the wet/paste/more wet I do with WELL WATER! #countrylife

@lexfri I rub on teeth before second wetting.

Discovered the thing with prescription toothpastes is… don’t even rinse. Spit only. Let the paste coat your teeth until saliva thins it out

@lexfri
You are a wise and correct man, Lex Friedman.
@lexfri read this thread expecting one dry tablet paste/no plastic person…
Tablet or two in mouth, crunch crunch a few times then “dampen” extra soft brush,
Definitely rinse, then floss, then mouth wash tablet, then retainer.
Hi, If TMI, oops, am a bit of a tooth gum nerd: fine line between good hygiene and flossing mania. The end.
@lexfri I too am a second wetter
