If youโ€™d asked me just twelve hours ago whether I hoped to be able to post a picture for #Caturday, I would have said โ€œnoโ€.

I would have said Iโ€™d given up all hope of #Tigger coming home after 26 days away ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

And I would have been wrong ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

As it is, Iโ€™m just amazed & grateful that he returned shortly after midnight last night. Very skinny, but otherwise seemingly well & very loud ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿฅฐ

Thank you to everyone who kept hoping ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ‘

#CatsOfMastodon

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words about Tiggerโ€™s return โ€“ itโ€™s very heartwarming & good to know how much people care.

He has been sleeping & eating today, & seems a little weak still. But weโ€™re out in the garden for the first time & heโ€™s patrolling (at the end only his leash!) all the usual places.

Plus itโ€™s raining for the first time in a month too.

Coincidence? I think not ๐Ÿ™‚

@markmccaughrean omg - away from the keyboard for a few days and reading that is SO SWEET. I am so glad for you ๐Ÿ’œ
@markmccaughrean Great to hear heโ€™s back ! ๐Ÿ‘
@redplanet00 Thanks, Fred โ€“ he really put us through the wringer, but weโ€™re very grateful heโ€™s back & seemingly no worse for the wear, at least once heโ€™s regained his full weight again.
@markmccaughrean after having been missing for 4 weeks it must have been an immense and overwhelming sense of relief to get him back. Good to see some down to earth happy event in these frequently dark times.
@markmccaughrean I am so glad your little furbaby came home. Please give him a little chin scritch from me.

@markmccaughrean

That is amazing. I'm so happy for both of you ๐Ÿ˜ป

@markmccaughrean

26 days oh my goodness! Glad he made it home.

@markmccaughrean

Woo Hoo!!!

Best news I've heard in a while and I'm so happy for you and Tigger!

And Tigger, I hope you've learned your lesson! There's no place like home.

@friz Thank you โ€“ thatโ€™s very kind. Weโ€™re coming to the conclusion that he mustโ€™ve been trapped in someoneโ€™s house somewhere, rather than having forsaken us for adventure. At least for now, he seems happy to be home & is eating & sleeping it all off.
@markmccaughrean Wow, amazing! Do you think he got trapped somewhere? Does he have any injuries?
@davespice He seems perfectly healthy apart from the obvious significant weight loss. Heโ€™s very clean as well, which perhaps suggests he didnโ€™t spend the month outdoors. So being trapped in a house with water (via a loo) but no food seems likely. Perhaps people were away on holiday & returned late last night.
@markmccaughrean @davespice I would guess a basement with mice or rats. 26 days without food sounds unlikely. But cats can actually get a lot of liquid from the blood of animals they catch.
@till @davespice Indeed โ€“ most websites say cats can go a fortnight without food, but โ€ฆ ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚
@markmccaughrean this is so great. It sucks though that heโ€™ll never tell you (clearly, anyway) where heโ€™s been. We have a cat who showed up one day with a broken leg. He still hasnโ€™t told us what happened. I guess weโ€™ll never know for sure
@markmccaughrean โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
@markmccaughrean best news ever!
@alexwitze Thanks, Alex โ€“ such a massive relief & as skinny as he is, itโ€™s right up there at the plus five sigma end of possible outcomes ๐Ÿ™‚ Heโ€™s eating & sleeping, & seems like he may be on his way to forgiving us for what happened to him ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿ˜บ
@markmccaughrean
Wow wow wow this is wonderful! What a lovely caturday picture this is!
@markmccaughrean that's a kitteh that deserves all the treats and as much cuddles as he wants!
@markmccaughrean such good news, I hope you gave him a firm talking to about worrying you like that.
@CatDragon We will, we promise ๐Ÿ˜‰
@markmccaughrean That is amazing news! I am glad he found his way home. AI am sure he is getting all the cat food, treats, and snuggles he wants
@megschwamb Thanks, Meg โ€“ yes, such a relief. Heโ€™s taking it easy, clearly exhausted & likely weakened by having lost so much weight. Weโ€™ll take him the vet on Monday for a check-up.
@markmccaughrean yay! Hope he got it out of his system lol
@markmccaughrean He went walkabouts I guessโ€ฆ ours did that too, but not a whole month. Equally exhausted though.
@xs4me2 The fact that heโ€™s skinny but clean tends to point towards having been locked in somewhere, but weโ€™ll probably never know ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚
@markmccaughrean Heโ€™ll be never able to tell you of his adventures ;)
@xs4me2 Heโ€™s talking *a lot*, so keen to share. But we idiot humans donโ€™t speak cat, so the fault is with us ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ˜บ
@markmccaughrean Darn, so I guess he told ya! :)
@markmccaughrean I'm so glad you have your fella back!
@markmccaughrean ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰
@markmccaughrean maybe hitched a lift in a courier van and had a long walk home.
@SunsettRayne One of our many thoughts, although he went missing on a Sunday afternoon, & if heโ€™d been outdoors, I think he mightโ€™ve found food. Heโ€™s a pretty good back garden hunter. Still, we may never know either way ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
@markmccaughrean Oh I am so.pleased for you and Tigger. My Merry was missing for 14 days and we know that she had no feed. The stress and release when she was found
@markmccaughrean ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
@markmccaughrean I thought about you and your dear missing cat this morning and feared all hope was lost. What a wonderful thing to read! So happy you and Tigger are reunited!
@photonstopper Thank you. The kindness of everyone one on hear at hearing Tiggerโ€™s story has restored my faith in social media ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ‘
@markmccaughrean So glad he came home! I hope he will stay close now.
@markmccaughrean
So pleased Tigger has come home ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–
He's going to be spoilt rotten I bet!
Several years ago one of ours disappeared for around six months,
I drove a Citroen Dyane at the time, a noisy beast, pulled up outside a chip shop about a mile from home, one evening, when we came out he was sitting by the car!
He never really wandered far again!
@DoubleTreble Quite the story โ€“ thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚ Not sure I could have stood six months โ€“ I was feeling very low after just four weeks & the not knowing was promising to leave me feeling depressed for a long time.

@markmccaughrean last year our cat was missing for 10 days after being trapped & dumped 10 miles away, but still made it home.

26 days is a long time though!! So happy they made it home, thanks for sharing โค๏ธ

@joshbuchea We had all the worst fears about people doing bad things & of course thatโ€™s still possible. More likely a house lock-in perhaps, but either way, the relief is palpable.
@markmccaughrean
Beautiful! Glad your furbaby came home

@markmccaughrean

He's a gorgeous looking catโ€”lovely mix of colours. Glad he's back safely. We get stressed if one of ours is just late coming home. Missing for 26 days would be a nightmare. I bet he'll be really clingy for a few days now until he's got over the scare.

@markmccaughrean
I'm so happy he's back! Poor boo. Also, poor humans who missed him.
@markmccaughrean ๐Ÿ˜ปโค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜ป
@markmccaughrean that feeling of terror when you realize they have disappeared suuuuucks. My indoor cat has gotten out a couple times, a week was the longest so far.
