a "root vegetable" is a vegetable with administrator privileges

@computerfact

I haven't done the research to confirm this, but it sounds like sudo science to me...

@multiverseofbadness
I think it's a little early to bash their hypothesis.
@computerfact
@multiverseofbadness @computerfact Beet me to punch. Sad to see such bogusosity turnup all over.
@computerfact Related : “tubers” are vegetables that produce or consume online video content.
@computerfact
to have real administrator powers a vegetable must be a true root, such as a rutabaga. Otherwise it's just sparkling corm operator privilege.

@computerfact

Be careful with carrots and potatoes!

@sirber

@computerfact does that make 'leafy greens' happy dashboards with every section uncollapsed?
@computerfact Your average corporate sysadmin, in other words.
@computerfact Thus, carrots for example, are a great way to administer provitamin A.
@computerfact so a patch pumpkin is a pumpkin with write access to the repository?
@computerfact It means something quite different in Australian English.
@computerfact Very Computer Fact indeed
@computerfact that's why we have supertuber.
@computerfact making an underground tuber a pseudo-sudo
@computerfact This is a quality fact. Thank you for sharing.
@computerfact 🤔 No wonder the mandragora is so powerful, then
@computerfact can't make soup without the carrot's consent anymore

@computerfact no joke, many moons ago as a baby intern, i was tasked with reimaging a bunch of machines. while there was a standard for what to name them, i didn't know it until after i had done like 5 machines, which i named all of them after root vegetables

we actually got an email from network security asking why we suddenly had "potato" and "carrot" on the network

@computerfact

I think I've worked with a couple of administrators like that.

@computerfact so does that make "root crop" when you open Gimp with admin privileges to crop an image…
@computerfact when they use social media they’re YouTubers

@computerfact

I've rooted down so su you...

(thinking along 'I've upped my priority so up yours')

@computerfact you can find their department is in the basement
@computerfact unless you live in australia
@computerfact read this account as “Computer Farts”
@computerfact oh, i know a couple of those!
