he felt short changed when he sold for $15M and will ring out every last cent this time.
“The protest, what it really affects is the everyday users, most of whom aren’t involved in this or the changes that spurred this,” Huffman said.
You can't make this shit up! User only exist if someone produce something to be consumed. And who does this genius think that produce the content? No one can be so out of touch. Start to believe the goal is simply to destroy the platform .

I’m starting to suspect Huffman is trying to screw over the private equity people pushing for the IPO.
Either that, or he’s a case study in mediocre white man confidence.
@mvario @mmasnick @techdirt Some excellent points - in typical corporate fashion Reddit handled this badly and could have done it differently.
But I feel a sense of entitlement from both sides, with each being ungenerous.
We can’t know Huffman’s heart, but I think he really is just just saying that as a business, they can't afford to give away free server time and bandwidth so others can profit from it.
I don't think he's saying, “Thanks for all the free content, suckers - yoink!”
@mvario @mmasnick @techdirt I don’t know how many times people have to relearn the lesson “you are the product”. Companies don’t give you free things online so they can be free forever, or because they love the community you're going to build. Use their services at your own risk.
Of course the moderator stuff is nonsense - anyone starting a sub should be able to moderate it however they want. Despite what he says, Reddit isn’t a democracy - it’s a website.

I mean, if you can't tell the difference between an AI trainer and a mobile app used by your most-loyal free labor, maybe you're not ready to charge for access?
