Many liken how the #fediverse work to #emails.

We all got emails but imagine if our email providers each had their own #SocialNetwork? All those emails are then our addresses so others can mention us in this network.

Then a #technology called #ActivityPub connects all these "emails" together so that we all can speak to each other if we want to.

Some "emails" look differently, ie. one might look like #Twitter (#Mastodon) and one might look like #Instagram (#PixelFed)...
