Honestly though, nano and vim are just different styles. Some think in vim, some in emacs/nano. I personally like vim as I feel it better integrates into the posix world as it mimics command-line tools like sed and a subset of it's commands also work in other tools like less. Ultimately, it's whatever works best for you.
But I'll still say, basic exposure to vi[m] is a requirement of running a *nix system and an expert can do more faster in vi[m].

VSCode is cool but how about that VSCodium? It’s almost like VSCode but maybe a bit less poisoned with Microsoft. Just sayin
