Protovision, I have you now! Davidโ€™s room from 1983 Wargames. Scratch built 1:12 scale model.
@6502B I still need to watch that film!
@wtfrank @6502B omg please come back and tell us how it is for you!
@6502B This is SO insanely cool.

@6502B This is *astonishingly* good!

One of my favourite films - in fact I just re-encoded from the Blu-ray so as to include the commentary.

@6502B Do you have any pictures of it as a work in progress?
What are the chair legs are made from, for example?
That work is astonishing.
@dmbaturin not many wip pictures of this one, but you can see some on my instagram. The chair legs are resin print, the metal support are polystyrene, the cushions are super sculpey
@6502B This is AMAZING! I can't stop staring at it!
@6502B Letโ€™s play Global Thermo-Nuclear Warโ€ฆ.
@6502B @LawrenceShop Always thought that was a bit of a risk - imagine if after running several thousand scenarios itโ€™d gone โ€œAh found one!โ€
@6502B @LawrenceShop Wouldnโ€™t you prefer a good game of chess?
@6502B I remember using an IMSAI in a microcomputer class in college. Pretty cool but grows tedious quickly. :)

@6502B The "best part" about the machine - an error - ANY ERROR - was basically rendered as:

> WHAT?

@6502B The room turned out very well
@6502B ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ
@6502B this is absolutely incredible!
HP1345A (and Wargames) โ€” PHKs Bikeshed

@6502B

This is fricking amazing! Unbelievable precision.

What if that was, in fact someone's room and it just so happens to have a massive floating hand inside clutching the edge of a news paper?

@6502B

"Shall we play a game?"

"How about Global Thermonuclear War?"

"Wouldn't you prefer a good game of chess?"

"Later. Let's play Global Thermonuclear War."

"Fine."

@6502B This may be, simultaneously, the most nerdy and the coolest thing I've ever seen.
@6502B On the scale of 0 to 0xF, this is an 0xF!!!!!! ๐Ÿ’–
@6502B @mralancooper that IMSAI 8080 is being emulated by an Arduino Nano, yeah?
@6502B This is such an extremely niche thing to turn into a project but you've carried it off staggeringly well. The attention to detail is mind-melting. Kudos to you!

@6502B That's one of the greatest things I've ever seen. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Also, that girl's standing over there and you're telling him about our back doors?

@6502B If you did not have the hand in the picture. Nobody would know it's a scale model. Looks really good.
@6502B Every Canadian of a Certain Age is thinking of the Friendly Giant kids show. (Ok just me)

@shawngoldwater @6502B Thanks. I think I'm of that Certain Age, but as a new Canadian, I don't yet have the same shared cultural memory.

I did my citizenship test last Saturday. There is nothing in the "Discover Canada" guide we are tested on about Friendly Giants. I think there should be age appropriate questions about moments like these.

@NovaNaturalist That's wild! Well, welcome to the family!
@shawngoldwater thanks - I welcome any more 1970's /1980's heritage moments that will help fill the gaps in experience that the test and Heritage Minutes doesn't fill.
@NovaNaturalist @shawngoldwater @6502B
Yes! We got the Friendly Giant in Detroit back in the day.
@shawngoldwater @6502B you gotta look up. wwwaaaaaay up. Yeah, never mind what that rooster is doing in that bag.
@6502B please tell us that the IMSAI works ๐Ÿ™‚
@6502B This is fantastic. ๐Ÿ˜
@6502B This is awesome, do you have a YouTube channel?
@RealFlotus I do, but I have not uploaded anything in a while https://www.youtube.com/miniatua

@6502B Seems like a cool niche you could make videos of. I understand video production is a-whole-nother endeavor though
@6502B fantastic attention to detail! Great work!
@6502B It looks the right size for a mouse to be in there.
