In ‘disappointing but unsurprising' news:
I plugged a USB dongle that gives ear/mic sockets into The Spectrum and tried to load an audio file via it. One that I know works because I tested it on my MiSTer immediately before.
Zilch.
Would be nice if they eventually enable support for this. I know .tzx files will make it simulate a real tape-load, but doing it with real audio might be fun.
Still - it's been out less than a week. Patience, Grey. Patience.
In Visual Studio is there a way to turn off the whole "I'm not touching this because MARK OF THE WEB!!!" nonsense?

Obscure techy-retro-computing question:
I have a Fujitsu D556 that I acquired. Lowest support OS for it is Windows 7, which I've installed.
But I'd really like XP on there. However, when I try to install it, it blue-screens during install because the BIOS isn't (from memory)’ ACPI compliant.
It's got the latest BIOS version I can find. I’ve tried multiple XP images.
Any suggestions, or is it a case of 'give up’?
The next few days are going to be really rough in the US. I can't give much, but have an Indy. He is cuddly, cute, and does not inspire stress or dread.

Any recommendations for an affordable, reliable laser printer? Only need B&W, but must work with iOS devices.
It’ll probably be used about twice a year, if that. Inkjets dry out too soon with that usage.
My Dad just died. We were with him for most of the day, but he was asleep for all of it. His last clear words (yesterday) were a grumpy, frustrated “oh, bugger”, which I’m oddly amused by, because that was 100% him.
