Attached: 1 image (Continue my #FF14 stuff from https://mastodon.social/@Bigshellevent/108225653727044124) This year's Valentione outfit is Professor Layton kind of cute I love it. All screenshots will be via mobile now, because fuck twitter. (Added benefit that this really makes Reddit outraged which is always a good thing.) #ffxiv

Attached: 1 image I said I was going to give Octopath I another go. Started with the hunter again. I'm enjoying it a lot more now that I'm in the mindset for a turn based JRPG. #OctopathTraveler

One more (hopefully) short horror. I'm all about walking simulator horrors set in a manor, so let's walk asay!

It's pretty hard to top Narcosis narratively. So I'm happy if it's good environment alone.

I live for mildly charmingly buggy games. Seriously. This gives me joy.

#Silverchains

Older gen see a torture horror house, our gen see a property that's probably worth 5 million in our current market. :(

I legit would find this scarier if it's Funko pop vinyl mostly because how much I hate Funko pop vinyl.

#silverchains

It's like when you flatted with those really gross people who just leave their menstruation all over the bathroom.

#Silverchains

Important 10/10 moment: you can just open a door, or interact with a thing, by pressing x. No QWOP required.

#SilvedChains

I love how you can kinda tell the visual artist's environment norm by looking at what they make sometimes. I'm guestimating this is a place with say Tasmanian humidity, rather than Malaysian humidity.

But also, idk why Residents Evil is filled with zombies who are really good at keeping flowers in vases fresh.

The latest journal entry was 1900, but I see they are still good with their power bills.

#Silverchains

I'm absolutely loving how when my protagonist Peter walks, the camera will rock a little just like you'd expect with footsteps.

#Silverchains

Just ran into my first ghost enemy, and ghost child saved my poor ol' Peter. Kinda have memories of playing Resident Evil 4 for the first time. Recognising the chainsaw dude while hearing impaired was ... Something.

#silverchains

Lol I thought I'm too stupid for the puzzles but turned out the door bugged out so much that I can't open it.

#Silverchain

It's almost a really good mansion horror. The massive thing prevents it from being one, is the bug comes in the form that you frequently can't interact with things. As in you can only interact with things if a prompt pops up, instead of permanently available. It's one of the cutesy extra stuff people do these days in games that does nothing but open up room for things to go wrong.

So when you can't progress, is it because of you did a puzzle wrong or is it because of this bug? You'll never know.

#SilverChains

Forever mad that the game is implicated to be set around UK, but then it refers to ground floor as first floor. No wonder I couldn't find the room.

#SilverChains

Not only you have chase segments that your character can't sprint, but also... The auto save takes you absolutely ages away so it's endlessly trying to return to the point of atrocious control, but 5 minutes away.

Remember when the player can choose when to save? Good times.

#SilverChains

L3 R3 as part of control just needs to die. The only thing ever consistent about it is its inconsistency.

#SilverChains

I think I'm near the end but honestly? The chase scenes can go fuck itself. It's not unreasonable to at least expect the controls are functional if I'm expecting to run away from instance death in a maze.

#SilverChains

It's a pity really, this game would've been superb as a walking simulator. I loved the environment setting, and the story is what you'd expect from a horror of this kind.

The chase sections never should've existed, and if the devs had such strong feelings about them then the control needed to be solid enough to back it up. Ultimately it just fell apart there.

#SilverChains

@Bigshellevent have you played Near Death or Cold Fear before?
@ami_angelwings no: how are the controls?
@Bigshellevent Cold Fear is like Resident Evil 4, they came out around the same time, Near Death is a first person thing and I found the controls quite good iirc, I really liked it
