My husband (@KevBot) and I took several classes on things like Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator and we were always making weird stuff purely for our own entertainment.
These are some of my favorites:
(1) Assignment where we were given a random art movement and had to create a poster in that style. Kev got Constructivism and I got Pop Art.
(2) Assignment where we had to make an ad for a company/product using a famous painting. Kev made an Osh-Kosh ad with a Renaissance painting and I threw some shade at Jackson Pollack.
The guy’s got layers. We also had to PRESENT our work and he was always totally deadpan when describing his artistic process.

The classmates were honestly fine. They were just extra-serious because they were actually trying to become graphic designers whereas we were just there to learn some stuff and have fun.
Unfortunately, after a few beers Steve becomes very clingy.
I welcome @glasspusher to make some copies and leave them at select hotels around Oakland.
I had to design a wine label for a local wine in class once, and the teacher threw a fit because my entry was a giant rose with slugs eating their way around the outside. Dude had no sense of humor.
@xenophora I LOVE this!
My husband and I were in the same class and would make the weirdest things for our assignments and nobody ever got it. At least we entertained ourselves.
Only way to live. 👍
I may not have any sort of career, now or ever, but on the plus side: the only humorless old bozo I have to argue with about projects now is myself.
