I was reminded of the time when I took a class on InDesign and we had to create a trifold brochure and I HATED the assignment, so I rebelled by making a fake flyer for a nonexistent petting zoo using a bunch of photos of aggressive animals.

My husband (@KevBot) and I took several classes on things like Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator and we were always making weird stuff purely for our own entertainment.

These are some of my favorites:

(1) Assignment where we were given a random art movement and had to create a poster in that style. Kev got Constructivism and I got Pop Art.

(2) Assignment where we had to make an ad for a company/product using a famous painting. Kev made an Osh-Kosh ad with a Renaissance painting and I threw some shade at Jackson Pollack.

Side note: I once went to a diabetes fundraiser because a friend of mine was in the show and they gave out cookies, cake, and soda unaware of the irony.

The classmates were honestly fine. They were just extra-serious because they were actually trying to become graphic designers whereas we were just there to learn some stuff and have fun.

@Alice @KevBot Love the Madonna and Pollock. Back when we were just learning what 'close window' and 'save as' meant, I was given the task of creating a newsletter for our little nature place. First versions of MS Publisher were out. To learn how to use it I made a sort of 'Onion' version for a few trusted colleague eyes only. Fairly obscene and very' 'in joke' . I know I have file of it somewhere but haven't been able to find it.

One of my InDesign assignments was to create a magazine so I made a fake magazine called PAHA POIKA which means “Bad Boy” in Finnish and then I used a photo of my husband’s fake rap persona, Mafakka.
