@pixelfed @matthiasott Those look like Instagram's overly-aggressive unauthenticated rate limit pages. The tag page loads up just fine if you're signed in to Instagram.
Makes for a solid viral story, though!
@jgarber @pixelfed @matthiasott Oh.
To explain why the oh: I run a band fanpage and regularly dig through the internet for concert coverage. Some of it happens to be instagram photosets and I have hit the "sorry, this page isn't available" or just a completely blank page so, so many times.
Still not making an account.
https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/joinpixelfed/ is working but with only six "Top posts" and no "Most recent" [posts] which seems much too low.
https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/joinpixelfedorg/ returns "Sorry, this page isn't available."
Looks like IG is censoring #joinpixelfed and #joinpixelfedorg. No surprise coming from the Dumpster fire known as F̶a̶c̶e̶b̶o̶o̶k̶ Meta. I'm starting to wonder if Meta is the new Myspace.
Credit to the @pixelfed team for striking fear in a $600b company.
it actually works for me
@pixelfed the hashtag is working regularly.
Truth is there are only six photos with that hashtag.
@pixelfed huh, looks like illegal anti-competitive activity to me, seems that they are attempting to "hinder other businesses from entering the market", and acting to "maintain or acquire a dominant position by excluding competitors or preventing new entry". Maybe qualifies as "refusal to deal", though not sure.
