Texas teen at the supermarket accidentally opens the door to the wrong car. She’s shot.

Kansas City teen goes to get his little brothers and accidentally rings the doorbell of the wrong house. He’s shot.

Car full of teenagers looking for a party accidentally turns into the wrong driveway. They’re shot.

OH dad mistakes 16-y-o daughter for an intruder, shoots her. She died.

These stories happen every day in America and school security or mental health access won't solve them. Only #GunControl.

@Litzz11 When they publish the DSM-6,. they should probababy consider listing "Living as an American" as a mental disorder.
@Litzz11 unreal. So the person who shot the teen who opened the wrong car door must have been sat there stroking their gun just waiting no? Normal response should be “hey, who are you? This is my car!”, giving teen time to respond “oh sorry, I got the wrong car”. No one had to be shot. Wild West was less dangerous than US is now in certain states that have abdicated all responsibility.
@andymoose @Litzz11 Massachusetts had strict gun laws, especially Boston. They did not go away once the constitution was ratified, The right of sole firearms ownership wasn’t “found” in the constitution until 2008. We are living in a hell constructed by libertarian oligarchs since the 1970s in an effort to destroy government. Their history is only as deep as the Muppet show.

@Litzz11 You really have to ask yourselves:

Who's the superpower & supreme authority on American soil?

The United States of America or America's gun industry, overarming the people to kill its children & each other, to the pleasure of the freaking dicktator in the Kremlin & other oppressors?

How brave & free do people have to be to have a slight chance to see their kids come home alive?

121+ firearms per 100 civilians, more guns than population in the U.S....

The insanity's got to end!

Guns of war don't belong into civilian hands. Prohibit the sale of military-style assault rifles to civilians.

@ArenaCops @Litzz11 any weapons that are issued to the corrupt police and rent-a-mercenaries called the US military should also be obtainable by the citizens for self-defense against such state powers #SayNoToTheAR15SayYesToTheM16

@Litzz11

"Responsible gun owners."

@Litzz11 2A nuts keep talking about a "good guy with a gun" coming to the rescue, but I don't see how that applies in any of these situations.
@dbsalk It almost never happens. These Wannabe Rambos usually end up in the way or shooting an innocent bystander (or themselves), if they happen to be near the scene of a crime in the first place.

@Litzz11 @dbsalk “According to a Harvard University analysis of figures from the National Crime Victimization Survey, people defended themselves with a gun in nearly 0.9 percent of crimes from 2007 to 2011.”

https://www.npr.org/2018/04/13/602143823/how-often-do-people-use-guns-in-self-defense

@mathew @dbsalk Well, that less than 1% is certainly worth the 45,000+ gun-related fatalities Americans experience EVERY YEAR.

/sarcasm

@Litzz11 Gun control is the no-brainer answer, but given the status of firearm ownership in the US and the cultural and constitutional issues around that it's not necessarily the *best* answer. A requirement for proportionality in response - yes, including for police - should be more achievable while being a game-changer. No stand your ground, no summary execution or burglars and thieves. Kill someone and you'd better be able to show it was a reasonable and proportionate response.
@outeast @Litzz11 The second amendment was literally worded to give states the right to arm their own military. It was written in a time when the US had disbanded its federal army. The only reason it is currently used to justify selling guns to as many people as possible is because a number of Supreme Court justices decided to ignore half of the words of the amendment itself.
@Litzz11 "This wouldn't happen with more guns!"

@Litzz11 so what you are saying is these children should be armed to protect themselves from their parents, neighbours and friends?

It’s the only logical conclusion

@Litzz11 In all cases, according to Americans, the problem is that the victims were unarmed, so what's really needed is MORE GUNS.
@Litzz11 now a 6-year -Old's ball rolls into wrong yard, and she & parents are shot

@Litzz11 to a man with a gun, everyone looks like a threat.

Why are Americans so afraid? Your country is broken. Your people are sick. You all need to get a grip and work on changing your mindset.

@spotrick @Litzz11 This. The father who shot his daughter was probably pulled into this paranoid narrative that everyone is out to get you, and intruders are lined up around the block, just waiting for a chance to break in. That "when not if" mindset has their fingers on the trigger from the day they buy a gun.

@Litzz11 The Republican party must die. I don't know how. I only know it has to happen. We can't go on like this. We're not a united country. We're trying to live alongside the deceived, now armed & terrified to shoot what Republicans trained them to fear without any reason.

This has to stop. It has to stop now. The future does not get better with millions of crazed shooters.

We can't fix this with Kremlin-fawning Republican billionaires ripping our country apart.

The party must die.

@Litzz11

Turn on your local AM radio station (most owned by Clear Channel type national syndicates) anytime of day.

You will hear the continual drumbeat of hate, grievance and fear.

Watch any House hearing or floor debate and listen to the hate and personal attacks from almost every Republican.

We do not have Fox on our cable package. I see clips of the hate they are always selling.

I am off Facebook and Twitter because I refuse to live with the hate and fear they encourage.

@Litzz11 Must be doing wonders for US tourism. Last place I’d want to go far too dangerous
@Litzz11 It's the guns. Ir's ALWAYS the guns.
@Litzz11
There are way more single shootings than mass shootings. America is a shit hole.
@Litzz11
It should boggle every mind that these reports are real, & not some macabre & poorly written cop show. I swear I’m feeling more & more like we’re living in The Twilight Zone, or maybe Deadwood.

@Litzz11
You arguably have the widest social circle of your life in your teens, and every one of the family and friends of those teens is traumatized.

We don't need more guns, we need more grief counselors to handle the gun violence we already have.

@Litzz11 the hair on my legs stood up when I read the part where dad killed his own daughter. There's no coming back from that kind of hell.
@Litzz11
America is a violent place
@Litzz11 Guns… and the culture of fear cultivated by the GOP and NRA.

@Litzz11

Coincidents???
Mistaken shootings occuring in trigger happy, gun wielding red states.

@Litzz11 Correct, but it's too late to change. Your political system is totally broken and corrupt.
@Litzz11 I thought that Thoughts & Prayers were the solution proposed by the NRA, and they are experts, you know.
@Litzz11
All of this makes sense only when you realize that the #oligarchy wants people to die. Especially poor people of color. If others die by accidents or crazy people, it still doesn't matter. It is a depopulatiion plan. More guns = more deaths. Regulations would decrease gun deaths. Therefore no regulations.
@Litzz11 plus how do these get solved with a "good guy with a gun"? If the victims had guns and shot first would they be the good guys? The only "good guy" is Chucky and look what happened to him...
@Litzz11 but muh fredumb (to kill people)

@Litzz11

Until this changes nothing else will.

#GOPDeathCult

@Litzz11 imagine waking up every morning, looking at your bank account and shrugging all of this off.

Can you even imagine?

They're doing it right now.
