Do you see how the NRA devalues lives for political gain? It’s amoral.
@georgetakei
It's not amoral. It's 100% immoral. If they were indeed amoral, just by the laws of chance they'd have to get it right once in a while. But they don't, because they are horrible, wicked, immoral šŸ’©.

@georgetakei "gun hating politicians should never go to bed unafraid of what this association and all of our millions can do to their political careers"

Fixed it.

@georgetakei That’s a new level of arrogance coupled with a nasty threat.
Politicians you did this to yourselves,making alliances with the NRA for money. Your vote for cash.
Now I imagine many politicians would like to vote for gun safety,but this threat is leveled at you
@georgetakei The NRA-led gun lobby promotes an immoral environment in which gun manufacturers get richer, unstable individuals can purchase military style assault weapons without a background check, waiting period, or training, whilst innocent people—most appalling America’s young school-aged children—die by gun shots. It’s criminal.

@AnnBindley2

Yep, it all is a game about profits and power.

Criminal cant even cover, it is evil.

@georgetakei I'm a responsible gun owner and veteran that never dreams of owning an F-16, tank, rocket launcher or a military assault style weapon such as the AR-15.... Hunting deer with any of these weapons is overkill and unnecessary...I will NEVER support a politician that receives $$ from the #nra

@georgetakei

The USA was build on guns.

The USA killed the native population so they could steal the land.

The so called "Indians".

- In short, you cant take guns from the american people. Then they will revolt just like this man is covertly threatening with.

"devalue lives" does not make any sense in USA's historical context.

There have never been much value to human lives in the entire USA's history i'am afraid.

@georgetakei How is this slime ball organization still a non-profit?
@georgetakei
Surely the only people who should have a say in a politicians career is their constituents?
@georgetakei if the NRA cared one little bit, they would have taken the initiative themselves long ago to come up with a solution, but they continue to do NOTHING. That speaks volumes.
@georgetakei "Gun hating politicians should never go to bed unafraid...."
Implied threat there, IMO.
The NRA and Wayne LaPierre were too corrupt for Ollie North. Let that sink in.

The N.R.A. Ousts Oliver North and Stifles Debate on Financial Wrongdoing

Brian Freskos writes about a tumultuous day at the National Rifle Association’s 2019 convention, in Indianapolis, that saw the ouster of the group’s president, Oliver North, and news that the group’s finances were coming under the scrutiny of the New York attorney general, Letitia James.

The New Yorker
@georgetakei That was sending a signal. This hate speech gets people killed. The nra counts on their most deranged members to carry this out.
@georgetakei there are 100s of millions of guns in circulation and they aren’t going anywhere, and the 2A is here to stay. What to do? I’d say: 1) raise the purchase age for all guns to 21 (like alcohol & cigarettes), 2) enhance background checks, 3) increase waiting periods, 4) restrict the type of weapons available for purchase (similar to the previous assault weapons ban). Sadly, 4 seems like a long shot. Perhaps 1-3 could eventually gain bipartisan support.

@snakeoiler @georgetakei Would like to see #1 but that won't survive the courts. Would like to see #2 as well but that would require a true instant background check system that's usable by the public.

Would very much like to see people convicted of violence to animals or domestic violence being prohibited persons for ownership.

@allpoints @georgetakei ā€œWould very much like to see people convicted of violence to animals or domestic violence being prohibited persons for ownership.ā€ I agree with this.
@georgetakei Your country (USA) is scary as…!
@georgetakei Good god man, just ignore them. Most gun owners despise the NRA because they do nothing but make us all look bad. They're like the MAGA sect of gun owners... So far to the right that they'll never see the light of day again.
@georgetakei Fully agree. Sadly their opposition is in the same business. It's not about rights or safety, it's about selling fear for money and political power. There are steps we could take to reduce the number of people hurt or killed with firearms. But that's hard. Much easier to push for "thoughts and prayers" legislation.

@georgetakei
The NRA is one of the fuels for this right-wing neofascism movement within the United States.

This is no time for moderates, we need the leftist radicals to kill this crippled elephant party.

@georgetakei
The depths of Republican's egosyntonicism has yet to be observed in totality. When ones measure for good and evil is centered on oneself as the binding point the results is a devaluation of everything that doesn't directly benefit oneself.
@georgetakei Sounds like they're only interested in money from gun sales. A long time ago, it was a culture of skills like marksmanship and safety.
@georgetakei they had a Twitter thread glorifying the grooming of children to face their destiny to die by gun.
@georgetakei luckily, the GOP is full of cowardly mfs who will see nothing wrong with being threatened by a death cult leader.
@georgetakei Remember that time he went hiding on a yacht? Being on land was so dangerous for him that he hid on the water. He was hiding from gunsšŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø
@georgetakei šŸ˜‚šŸ¤”šŸ‘æā˜ ļø
@georgetakei Bully Boy LaPierre threatens and talks big. He’s an f*ing coward. ā€œNational Rifle Association (NRA) CEO Wayne LaPierre admitted to hiding on his wealthy friend's yacht because of a "security threat" after deadly shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut and Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.ā€ (Newsweek 2021).
@georgetakei and I'm sure he said that knowing that guns weren't allowed at the event he said that at.
@georgetakei Is he a complete idiot? Does he not realize how many liberal, LGTBQ, & socialists own guns? Maybe he’s never heard of Pink Pistols, but he’d have to live under a rock. I see right through his Chicken Little argument & I bet I’m not the only one.
@georgetakei I love how 100% of what you put out into the world is outrage about political issues.This is the kind of voice we really need!
@georgetakei despicable! These gun lobbyists need to be taken down ….. politically that is! I abhor violence!
@georgetakei Worse yet, they're taught (and are teaching) that this choice of money or power over lives is the moral choice. Doing good, for them, is evil.
I probably don't need to add that Ignorance is Strength.
@georgetakei just plain evil. Inhumanely so.
@georgetakei
I see the NRA is choosing the politicians. I remember when voters did that.
@georgetakei It is a mental disorder and should be labeled as such. It is a dangerous, deadly cult. Treatments need to be funded, publicized, and promoted. The #NRA needs to be declared a terrorist organization and members shamed in polite society. #Politics
@georgetakei more gun sales support the prez lavish lifestyle
@georgetakei The NRA is a terrorist organization.
@georgetakei What? They can still afford to hold events?
@georgetakei That appears to me like he'd spoke a clear threat!
