So the #SupremeCourt (US) will hear a case tomorrow that pits gun rights against cannabis users.
I will start by saying I didn't even know there *was* a law saying that cannabis users couldn't own guns, but if any of the guys I shoot with are an indication, they're gonna have to arrest a lot of heavily armed combat vets.
The case is; the DOJ reviving a case against a Texas man charged with a felony because he allegedly had a gun in his home and acknowledged being a regular pot user, when charged with something else.
The conservative-leaning 5th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the case, finding that only people who are intoxicated while armed can be charged with a crime. DOJ appealed to the Supremes.
Weird bedfellows; the #NRA and #ACLU on one side, saying the law is overbroad, poorly written and unconstitutional, facing off against the #DOJ and the #GOP.
