I sincerely hope this was a mistake or oversight that's swiftly addressed because, if not, it will be open season for governments that want to abuse legal demands to censor their critics on Twitter worldwide.

@davidfowler it’s not a waste of time to pay attention to serious free speech issues arising on a site that’s still widely used. Just because some people leave twitter doesn’t mean it no longer has any importance or relevance in the world.
