I appreciate that the Washington Post published an online quiz today titled, "Are You Ableist?" Let's face it, a short quiz like that is MUCH more likely to inform and educate people than books or long-form news articles. Welcome to our modern world!

I thought the quiz was a good conversation starter for folks who have not thought about ableism very much.

I would have modified that last question - the person who is disabled should be the one who decides which terms to use. If a child is very young then the parents can choose but as children grow up it should be up to them to choose the terms they prefer.

@ahimsa_pdx @NothingLeftOfMe Yeah the last question was badly phrased. And there are all kinds of degrees of autism, from not much impairment to severely disabled.
