If NPR is “State Media” because it’s 1% US funded then why isn’t Elon’s Twitter account “Saudi State Media” when it’s 4.5% funded?

@stevenrosenthal

Fox News is about half Saudi isnt it?

Edit. Not anymore. the Saudi Prince sold stocks in the Fox news parent company.

@stevenrosenthal It is, they just won't say so 😂
@stevenrosenthal it's a bit rich from a guy whose whole strat has been to take massive govt subsidies for _all_ of the companies he pretends he founded

@stevenrosenthal

And Tesla is government vehicle manufacturer, like the ones in the Soviet Union then, right?

@stevenrosenthal doesn't fit narrative and argument.

@stevenrosenthal Because histrionic Elon is emperor in his $44 billion sandbox.

Expect no reason, sanity & mercy from an attention-addicted cyber-Caligula.

#Mastodon #FreeSpeech #FreePress #SocialMedia #LeaveTwitter #AntisocialMedia #Extremism #Arbitrariness #AttentionAddict

@stevenrosenthal oh, if he had even an ounce of the moral clarity necessary to reach that conclusion, we'd probably still be using his shitty blogging platform.
@stevenrosenthal If Musk had to spend his time answering questions like that, he'd never get around to answering questions like if Tesla's driverless system is so smart, why does it keep trying to park the average vehicle under a truck...
@stevenrosenthal How do we get the NYT, WP, HuffPo etc etc to come here to #Mastodon ????
@stevenrosenthal Because Musk says it is. Do you want to be labeled a state media, too?

@coyoty I would be HONORED if Musk labeled me as state media.

Hey, Elon. I edited for PBS once or twice, hit me with your lulz label!

@stevenrosenthal Wait, wait, don’t tell me…it’s because Elon lives on planet money, but there’s no wisdom from the top. So we all need a little fresh air.

@stevenrosenthal That thing with NPR should have been the last straw.

I can't believe people use Twitter.

@stevenrosenthal
Tesla is State Run electric car company for taking the regulatory credits!

(He is really, really not smart. I don't think he's profoundly stupid, but he seems to be creeping up to that line.)

@stevenrosenthal 0.01% ...at least, when it comes to direct funding.
@stevenrosenthal it's a good point. And we can be pretty sure there are back channels to let the Saudi government read any DM or private posts on Twitter. As sure as we are that TikTok doesn't back channel to the Chinese government.

@stevenrosenthal
Just heard about this, finally disabled my account (which I never used anyways) and installed an addon to redirect twitter to nitter.

https://nitter.net/about

Nitter
@stevenrosenthal How is it even states media for only 1%? I mean legally I guess, but maybe I don't see why the 99% doesn't mean anything. So is math wrong?🧮
@stevenrosenthal I wonder if Saudi has offered money to Elon / twitter employees to get GPS locations for people they want to bonesaw.
@stevenrosenthal also consider. To buy twitter he embezzled money from Tesla. Which was MASSIVELY US subsidized.
@stevenrosenthal @DebR because it’s totalllllly different 😂🤬
