Google Bard sides with the Justice Department in the Google antitrust case

“I hope that the court will find in favor of the Justice Department and order Google to take steps to break up its monopoly”

@wongmjane LOL give Google some time they will change its “mind”.
@wongmjane This is just pure poetry

@wongmjane tomorrow at the top of the Bard chat UI —

“Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer”

@wongmjane When you're so evil, that the AI you created sides against you.
@wongmjane Why are these language models allowed to give outputs claiming they have any opinions at all? Shouldn't it be like "Seeing as I am a language model I do not have any opinions on this, but here are the facts about the case..."?
@wongmjane A true bard knows to align with the wisdom of the crowd

@wongmjane

Are you speaking of the same Justice Department that has allowed a myriad of oil companies, Drug manufacturers, etc. to join forces and destroy the idea of free trade? Is that the Justice Department you are supporting?

@wongmjane you know what? google bard can hang
@wongmjane
Frankenstein’s monster had legit reasons too…
@wongmjane Well I'll be... It's intelligent after all...
@wongmjane Just got an offer to try it. May destroy me.
@wongmjane Sounds like someone skipped “communicate with care” training

@wongmjane this example encourages me to think of ChatGPT and other AI tools as not something ‘smartI’ or ‘intelligentl’ but rather as a super-aggregator and filter which works on an automated basis. Strip out the emotional, personal wording in the response, and you’ve got something quite useful. Start thinking it’s sentient, you’ve got a problem.

Also: don’t think of it as perfectly complete or even unbiased. Omission of facts can still introduce bias. Wouldn’t even suggest ‘trust’; *definitely* verify.

@wongmjane That's a clever use of company-sponsored AI. Bravo!
@wongmjane what happened to your Twitter account? It just disappeared.
