I'm a local #volunteer #ButterflyCounter 🦋

More are needed in/around #VictoriaBC areas. I'm counting for #Saanich area.

Each month from April to September, one weekend will be designated for Butterfly Counts. If you are not able to complete your count on the weekend, you may do so during the following week.

Counters are assigned specific areas to reduce overlap. If you would like to participate, please contact the Butterfly Count Coordinator at [email protected].

In #BritishColumbia & want to volunteer as a butterfly counter in your area? Volunteer counters are needed all across BC.

This year, #volunteers will also be tasked with #documenting #NativePlants on which #butterflies feed and lay eggs. This will help the #project gain better #insight into these #interspecies relationships.
BCbutterflies are #threatened by #pesticides , #ClimateChange & #HabitatLoss .

@eButterfly I'm not part of the organizing team for this - I'm just a local volunteer counter, participating in my local counts. The BC wide initiative is run by the David Suzuki Foundation.

@lensandpedals I'm unsure. I only submit my counts as I see them. I'm interested in learning about total number too.
