Remember when an entire computer was needed just to play this game? Now the average user has so compute power at their hands (wrists) this is simply used as a method of 1) distraction and 2) to manipulate the efficiency of the device to prevent the task from being terminated.

@djoll @overcastfm Not for me. If I turn off my phone, overcast on the watch just does nothing. And never did. Just showing an endless activity indicator. The Apple podcast app on the other hand streams the audio.
@danielburkard @overcastfm that’s very strange. What version of Watch OS & watch is that? (I’m on 9.3.1 / and a 2022 watch + latest overcast)
@djoll @overcastfm everything on the latest version here as well. I tested it every once in a while since the feature was released. Never worked for me. Maybe it’s a bug that it does not work with non-US cellular carriers.

CaryJM@chrisdejabet @marcoarment @overcastfm Probably addressed elsewhere but I’d presume that this is so the user interaction will keep the app active and therefore the OS will allow the transfer to continue in the background.

Leanne J@chrisdejabet That is cute! I actually have the Pong mini game ‘ping pong’ on my Watch which is great for a spare couple of minutes, and quite addictive! If you beat the levels it opens up other mini games including a little jump game. So easy to play even on a tiny screen. 10 year old me would be blown away living in the future 😁

There have been a lot of times when I'd wait 20 minutes or so before going to the gym because I'm waiting for music to finish downloading - and the fact that the download doesn't continue when the screen is faded means that I have to focus on my watch the whole time, but just enough to press a single button and make sure I'm not interrupting the download.
