Ronald Reagan was merely a polite version of Trump. Carter stood out because he didn't think like a lawyer or a politician [oxymoron noted].

I don't think Carter had an ounce of malicious in him, but being president, esp during the 70s, it was impossible not to sign off on something terrible.
BCVenice1@StevenBeschloss He was a man of peace and that’s why the MIC backed Reagan/Bush in the Iran-Contra deal, pure treason. Delaying the hostage release was part of their election strategy. He was a great president, under appreciated for sure .

@StevenBeschloss I'll be 80 in a few weeks, so I even remember Truman! Because of his attempts to free us from our reliance on MIddle East oil, reduce our energy consumption, and slow population growth (overpopulation is the #1 problem in the world), I consider him the most Enlightened President of my lifetime.

Bacchus1234@StevenBeschloss Speaking as an atheist , he was also one of the best examples of a model Christian. However, in my opinion he was an extremely good man that was put into a job that (I’m quite sure) placed him continuously at odds with his beliefs.
