@bens Just a strange mastodon bug. If you constantly get that, go to ivory's settings, notifications, the account that's having the issue, and then turn off all the switches for 10-15 seconds then turn back on.

But if you get them on occasion, there's not much we can do at this point.

@ivory How 'bout blocking users? I can't figure out how to - if a user appears in federated and says something I never want to see again - block them?

I know how to do it via web, just not from @ivory!

@jann Block and report are the same option. You can try it now and see the menu. It won't actually perform anything until you submit the next view.

@kvenden We'll probably remove "early access" when we feel like the app is in a very solid position without any major bugs and our initial roadmap is complete. Then we can focus on all the fun things we want to do in the app. 🙂

@ivory Gotcha. The feature request is this: From Apple Photos on iOS (or any imaging app), select an image, click Share, and post the image to Mastodon that way. There is no way to add Alt text to the image when posting images this way.

i.e. Please add an alt text option to the iOS Share Sheet for Ivory.

@ivory Yes, I apparently have that working on my personal instance (see screenshots), but how does this work in Ivory?

And additionally, is it currently possible to set the language of a post, or is that still on your roadmap?

@rob You just have to hit the translate option (in the gear button of a post) and it should use it. Setting languages for posts will come when we redesign the compose view.

@ivory @rob I had already been trying that, but could not find such a post so far. Ironically a reblog of @MonaApp today provided the test case… It works!

What defines the target language?

On the web (instance) it is English (the configured interface language?), but in Ivory (App) it’s my native language (language set on iPhone?).

@johngbell95 Depends on your settings. But usually will auto update eventually. Many want the features yesterday so it's best for us to announce them so people know to go force download them. 🙂

@ivory Do you think you might ever allow users to display timelines chronologically with the most recent on the *bottom*? The latest-on-top convention is unfortunate in general, in my opinion, but especially on the Fediverse—where posts can be very long and it is even more of a pain to scroll up to the top of a post only to have to scroll down to read it.

@dougdougdoug The answer for now is no. It's a lot of work and so many issues could arise and need to be fixed because of it. But someday when the app is in a good place and we are looking for features to add, might be a possibility?

@ivory using your #ivory app makes me less bitter loosing #tweetbot with twitter. Nevertheless, some of the downsides of #mastodon remain: especially in #academia, especially in #hydrology I see only a small number of users…

@ivory unfortunately this release made Ivory unusable for me. I had one account configured on a #GoToSocial instance and Ivory 1.0 crashed when trying to use that account. But after about 5 times of crashing right after starting it would switch to a working account on an Mastodon server.

V1.1 only crashes after I tried whether the GoToSocial would work after the update. I can't use it anymore because I can't switch to the mastodon account. :(

@ivory Just downloaded! On my iPad, I lost the icon (just showed a wireframe). It came back when I rebooted. Everything was fine when installing on iPhone.
