@actuallyautistic How many of us #ActuallyAutistic folks have every day, run of the mill noise triggers? By that I mean, say, one that can't stand the sound of grating cheese, or brushing your teeth? Mine is the vacuum... it just cuts right through me, triggers instant anxiety, even when I'm the one doing the vacuuming, and has a really good chance of making me snap at the next person I talk to.. I recognize that it's important, that most people do it, and that it's a fairly common one. Without going into details, sweeping isn't a viable alternative for us. Not really looking for solutions, just curious to learn about people in our little community. What's your trigger, do just deal with it, or did/do you find ways to avoid it?

@cinja @actuallyautistic Someone talking with their mouth full. This could include gum, but (in my case), it's usually actual food. It's pretty gross.

My ex-wife seems to be eating something every time I have to get on the phone with her, and I have a hard enough time understanding people who are talking on the phone.
