I've also been playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS version) with the Citra emulator in upscaled mode (3x) with a custom HD texture pack. This thing is wild.

Don't even get me started on why Nintendo isn't doing more HD remasters. (*sighs in Metroid*)

@viticci did you see the LTTP pc port that runs in 16:9 and 16:10?
@viticci how did you even get Citra to run, I’ve tried several binary versions and two home-compiled ones
@amanda @viticci I think you have to use one of the nightly builds from a while ago. I *think* nightly 1781 is the last one that works on macOS, that or 1782.

@rhysmorgan @amanda @viticci I was reading it doesn't work very nicely with M1 chips— do you know if this one does ok?
@fried @amanda @viticci I think they're just saying it’s not validated and tested on M1. I have an M1 Max, and I've been able to run Pokémon X without *too* many problems. Not got too far into it though, tbf
@rhysmorgan @fried @viticci I have an Intel MacBook Pro (old enough not to run the most recent macOS) and couldn’t get any of the more recent versions to even start, so it may be Macs in general and not just M1 Macs.
@amanda @viticci @fried Yeah, they’e got a warning on the Citra website that newer versions don’t work. I think another nightly version I've seen indicated as "last one working" is 1728, so a bit older than the one I linked to. Might be worth trying that one out too, if 1781 doesn't work for you.
@viticci That looks gorgeous. If they released Wind Waker or Twilight Princess they’d have my $$ within seconds 💸. Skyward Sword was so much fun.
@viticci that is absolutely gorgeous.
@viticci This looks incredible.
@viticci that looks great! Are you just playing it on a window in PC? I’ve never known how well 3DS games would work without two screens.
@viticci wow, this is not ugly anymore! Ancient Nintendo 3D titles always looked absolutely terrible to me, who wasn’t part of that era (I was still on Amiga in 2D-world).
@viticci Had similar thoughts playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 4K via Dolphin. Sad but the best console for us retro Nintendo fans is a decent gaming PC

@viticci Holy crap that looks amazing!

Nintendo, I and others will give you money for these! You can then use that money and exchange it for goods and services. PLEASE!

@viticci holy shit does that look great!
@viticci I still haven't bit the bullet on Metroid yet. I've been hooked on Dead Cells lol
@viticci Where are you playing this? iPad?
@viticci I’m excited for the (very near) future where generative AI can “remaster” old games into visually modern masterpieces.
@viticci can’t wait for citra builds with better apple silicon support. Supposedly the groundwork is being laid for a switch from OpenGL to Vulkan which would theoretically make a MoltenVK metal layer possible
@viticci what’s the trick for dealing with the touch screen in Citra? I gave up on AutoHotKey to do it.

@viticci Wow that looks good! I just started replaying this on a New 3DS XL. Last time I played it was on the GameCube. I think it was a special release I got when I preordered Wind Waker.

I'm attempting to beat all the Zeldas in timeline chronological order prior to the release of the new one in May. I don't think I'm going to make it...

@viticci maybe Nintendo should stop going legal on any fan projects And the like and hire them!Everybody wins and no piracy needed. Nintendo is very well placed with this sort of thing with thirty high number of first party IP/games. Not like others where they can’t get licenses from others so they can re-release
@viticci did someone say Metroid 😍
