I've also been playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time (3DS version) with the Citra emulator in upscaled mode (3x) with a custom HD texture pack. This thing is wild.

Don't even get me started on why Nintendo isn't doing more HD remasters. (*sighs in Metroid*)

@viticci how did you even get Citra to run, I’ve tried several binary versions and two home-compiled ones
@amanda @viticci I think you have to use one of the nightly builds from a while ago. I *think* nightly 1781 is the last one that works on macOS, that or 1782.
@rhysmorgan @amanda @viticci I was reading it doesn't work very nicely with M1 chips— do you know if this one does ok?
@fried @amanda @viticci I think they're just saying it’s not validated and tested on M1. I have an M1 Max, and I've been able to run Pokémon X without *too* many problems. Not got too far into it though, tbf
@rhysmorgan @fried @viticci I have an Intel MacBook Pro (old enough not to run the most recent macOS) and couldn’t get any of the more recent versions to even start, so it may be Macs in general and not just M1 Macs.
@amanda @viticci @fried Yeah, they’e got a warning on the Citra website that newer versions don’t work. I think another nightly version I've seen indicated as "last one working" is 1728, so a bit older than the one I linked to. Might be worth trying that one out too, if 1781 doesn't work for you.
