@stevestreza It’s as if she’s seen the hit in the sale of her books due to being a POS and wanted to “expand her brand” to make more money. So of course she chooses to market HP to people that play video games. There’s enough people that will buy the game for it to still be worth it for her.

@stevestreza honestly none of her public comments seem as egregious as they are reported on many outlets. She has beliefs, shouldn’t she have the right to have them? Are they bad opinions? Yes, but they don’t seem as extreme as they are often made out to be. I find it extreme to go as far as to tell other people enjoying a game is funding some type of an evil person. She may be wrong, but she is not evil. Buying Hogwarts legacy is not the same as buying something like Mein Kampf, Respectfully

@Bto They are not "bad opinions", they are a political position which she regularly leverages to regress trans rights, or to deny trans people access to care. She has a fortune to use to achieve those political goals. She's aligned herself with ultra-conservatives who advocate eugenics and taking away gay rights or abortion rights. And by purchasing the game, you directly and indirectly fund those causes.

@stevestreza but isn’t everything political? As much as I am pro aboriton rights, I do see how someone who is against is still coming from a not evil person perspective. It’s a gray area I wish we could all at least accept that. Eugenics topic I Willa crept I am not to familiar with. But I think, equating this game to this is not right. Like it or not Harry Potter will always be a cultural thing that people will flock to immerse themselves. Rightfully so.

@stevestreza and I don’t think purchasing the game will mean they support anti LGBTQ causes or other causes for that matter. Using this logic, we would have to avoid a vast amount of literature, art and folklore becuase of their authors policial beliefs. I hope you understand I am not fighting you on this one. Just giving my opinion respectfully.

@Bto @stevestreza It reallydoes matter, and her politics come through in the game; some of the events the game is centered around involve maintaining the oppression of marginalized groups that are rooted in things like antisemitic caricatures.

@stevestreza @Bto Germany put legal restrictions on hate speech after WW2 because they realized an effective way to prevent genocide is to stop people from planning it and advocating for it openly. The US should do the same.

She specifically targets trans people with othering and demeaning language, and makes baseless claims that their accommodation and indeed very existence represent a threat to others' safety. That, to me, is evil.
