A cold day is a chili day! 🥘

A pantry/fridge raid to make an impromptu veg-chili. Not much garden stuff left from last year, but the remainder (un-canned) made it in. Also added a dollop of home made tzatziki sauce (for dinner later) because why not?

Bread is the remainder of last week's sourdough.

I apologize for the blurry cell phone pics. 🤦

And here's the hummus I made afterwards (this will go with the tzatziki sauce later today). However, I totally forgot to put the lemon zest in...

@HateToShave hummus! I had my first try a week ago, decent.
Any special ingredient, other the chick peas, the tahini, kumin powder, lemon, salt, garlic? I see tour turned out redish, added red horn pepper (the vegetable)?
@bibix79 Aside from the ingredients I've listed in the image description, the method is just to use the right quantities. But I don't have immediate access to smoky tahini or smoky paprika right now. Adding more garlic (like 6-8 cloves per the 1 1/2 cups, by original dry volume of chickpeas) and three lemons worth of juice (including their zest) makes this a very garlicy, zesty mix. And just the paprika for the red.
