Bethany BlackIt’s interesting to me that there hasn’t been a new anti-trans argument since the 90s and all of them get debunked all the time, but they still don’t give up because they have to reiterate arguments they *know* are wrong because they feel like bigots when they have to say “I just don’t like trans people, they creep me out” which is at the core of it all.

What they need to do is learn to love a trans person, and then the rest won't seem so scary.

@cohomologyisFUN oh yeah, and they used them against us back then too, but they have a bunch of other pseudoscience ones in order to pretend that we’re all either men who are so gay we want to be women to trick men into fucking us, or that we’re straight me. Who’ve fetishised vaginas so much we want one. That was the last new argument against us, based off one really badly cherry picked survey of 20 people in a gay bar one pride weekend.

@BethanyBlack They always go back to the bathroom thing, which is fucking stupid and exhausting. I'm more worried about sending my daughters to public bathrooms because of cleanliness, rather than the weird notion that someone will "pretend" to be a woman to assault them. JFC.

I think it's important to understand their propaganda from that angle, because no logic will work against a framework rooted in a feeling of disgust. We must optimally let the dinosaurs die. Obviously not always able to, but it's a far more agile stance than subjecting each other to their sad bigotry hose and the blame they cast about their divorces.

@BethanyBlack @PublicChaffinch thank goodness the ignorance of "sex=gender" is dying as that generation does, but as more and more of these asshats get told off by their children we'll see many were only ever swimming along in that tide of disgust and ignorance, without a deeper understanding of their fundamental fallacies and cruelty.
