Hello it is me

I am the extreme alt left

I am here to bully you online into accepting ridiculous ideas like:

* Literally everyone deserves a good life
* Universal, unconditional healthcare
* No one should have too much power over anyone else

@researchfairy sure thing but what if in response to your request for a more accommodating and supportive world, I just dug in my heels to be as obtuse as possible?

@endeavorance Many people have stomped their little feet at me and pouted

This only makes me more powerful

@researchfairy
If everyone believed in sh*t like that, we would end up in this world of fairness, social justice, and filled with more compassion. šŸ¤”
@MrLee Radicalizing the youth with library cards and public transit maps

@researchfairy

{laughs} You're just an ordinary Socialist. Time to {get really high and} realize you're now just average among a colony (think Fahrenheit 451) of like-minded people. Be liberated O soul! To the wonders of being taken for granted in your views.

@ecsd @researchfairy come on... Where's the alt- text? I wanna boost this but meet me half way?

@Homebrewandhacking @researchfairy

Alt text? for a self-explanatory image? I /think/, grasshopper, you use the limits You have, and try to extract from "you are a socialist" the two points and try to fit them.

Must I, fine, then try
alt = "socialism = democracy + people>money"

and if that's not good enough, then either you fix it, or you send me some baklava, or I charge $75/hr. {laughs} Your choice.

unless, of course, you're not referring to the image I think you mean. [then be explicit. the old man needs context - them creakin' neurons, ya know.]

@ecsd @researchfairy

It's an accessibility thing. I can read the image. People who can't see the image will want to know what it says.

Live our mutual values that disabled people are people. Pretty please? šŸ˜

@Homebrewandhacking @researchfairy

It's not something I usually do.
{sigh} Walther Mathilde badgered me to sign my shit, and I've begun to do that {besides, how will I become a media superstar}, now you want me to alt-text them all? {gads.} So see what evolves - now I need the credit department (sign it), the alt-text department (alt text it), so many departments. I think this is why people shoot themselves and go back to watching TV.

I'll do it this way: only on demand to begin with. that spares my captioning things before I know there's any interest in it.

Question remains, why won't you repost with a caption? As long as you're faithful, I don't mind.

{sigh} what do I do, here we go.

@ecsd @Homebrewandhacking @researchfairy THX, greatly appreciated

@PAdeus @ecsd @researchfairy I've QTd it because I wish to spread the message of the graphic rather than the extensive... commentary on why alt text is necessary.

I don't boost images without alt-text. I've explained why.

@Homebrewandhacking @ecsd @researchfairy hum? Yeah that s fine.

I liked that someone hinted to the alt-text. And I like that someone just added the alt text. That s a nice respectful way to treat each other. That s what I wanted to express.

I appreciate the message, the hinting, the providing. That s a nice way to interact: culture and social norm.

So...

@researchfairy after that, folks, he will try to make you submit to a cleaner, non-toxic planet Earth! Damn hippies!!

@researchfairy You sound like a moderate to me. 😜

Did you not get your fursuit and your copy of Das Capital when you joined your instance?

@Homebrewandhacking Oh I was handing out fursuits and dirty pinko literature on Fedi when your instance was nought but a twinkle in your admin's eye
@researchfairy oh 100% I'm a noob on a noob server. šŸ˜€

@researchfairy

Stop treading on my good life, great private insurance and power over others! >:(

@researchfairy Reminds me of this cartoon
@researchfairy a radical
A liberal, fanatical, criminal. won't you sign up your name? We'd like to feel you're acceptable
Respectable, presentable, a vegetable.
@researchfairy Hope you know that it makes no sense to categorize people in political spectres.
@researchfairy You better not think that every job should pay a living wage! *SHAKES FIST*
@Tweetfiction @researchfairy Why force people to work for a living at all? Universal basic income for all!!!
@researchfairy I know you mean this as a joke, but I really, really wish that was as extreme as the left got. I've been on the receiving end of their hate mongering. It's not fun.
@Crell @researchfairy People hate mongered against you because you oppose police and border abolition??
@SallyStrange @researchfairy ??? Uh, no, nothing to do with either one.
@Crell @SallyStrange @researchfairy I think people are struggling to understand exactly what hate you could have received. Sorry that you've had hate directed at you though.
@spearmintreader @SallyStrange @researchfairy Someone leaked details of my consensual intimate life with intent to harm; the result was blackmail, months vilification, my expulsion from a major position within an OSS project, and outright lies and false accusations, all because the project lead of a said project was a hypocrite who didn't like my sex life. All in a *very* left-wing community.
@researchfairy Seems very scary! People are so extreme this times…

@researchfairy Actual things alt-left parties, politicians, and intellectuals call for:

* Support for Putin against Ukraine, or at least neutrality.
* Not building any new market-rate housing in expensive cities.
* Voting down any compromise bill that increases equal access to health care unless it's their fantastic imagination of Nordic single-payer (actual Nordic single-payer has copays).
* Leaving the EU, but from the left.

@Alon @researchfairy and to my embarrassment the snti-vaxxer movement had its initial growth come out of the left. :/
@researchfairy
I feel this post is trying to undermine my efforts to become supreme ruler.

@researchfairy

Extreme right: "Kill or be killed"

Extreme left: "Live and let live"

@researchfairy
And let’s add Universal Basic Income to that listšŸ’«āœØšŸ’
Happy to meet you @researchfairy

@researchfairy

excuse me but how did you forget ā€œprotect the environment so everyone can breathe clean water and drive clean airā€

@researchfairy can we agree that, if you’re able to get vaccinated against a pandemic, and choose not to, that you should be denied care, or at least deprioritized?
@researchfairy and anyone doesn't feel uncomfortable about having too much power over someone, I question whether they are truly human.
@researchfairy also - why are there billionaires?

@researchfairy

Hello it is I from the extreme Right.

I am here simply to comment before I go back to doing my own stuff. My comments include ridiculous ideas such as:

* Literally everyone deserves the opportunity to create a good life
* Families, neighbors, churches, etc. ought to care for each other
* No government entity should have power over the citizens

@robertology @researchfairy How does that last one work? What if, say, my neighbour's hobby poisons the air and water in our neighbourhood? Are the police not intrinsically part of the state?

@kennykravitz @researchfairy That was an over simplified statement. I wasn't talking anarchy. :)

My goal there was to point out the similarities of the apparent left/right divide. Those groups are more similar than not. We're being played against each other.

The OP talked about one person having power over another. Someone on the right would say "I agree. Also, let's extend that to government. Especially them because once you give them power, it's very hard to get it back". Power to the people

@robertology
-"the opportunity to create a good life" = the ability to own more than you need and deny others what they need
-"churches and family should take care of people" and if you're an orphan who happens to be an atheist then die in the streets
-"no government entity should have power over citizens" = no environmental regulations, but definitely persecute poor oppressed people for seeking asylum

@SallyStrange Interesting conclusions. I didn't quite follow how you got to #3 especially.

A good exercise would be doing the same to the original post: look for the potential negatives with enacting such things. If you're up for it, I'd love to see your thoughts there.

@robertology @researchfairy
Honestly even your first point invites victim-blamey wiggle room. "People who squandered their opportunity (as we perceive it) deserve to be poor" vs "no one deserves/needs to be poor".

@arina @researchfairy
The OP said "good life". I said "good life". Where does "poor" come from?

Make whatever life you want, but you aren't going to be given one. There is no Good Life Warehouse where you can pick one up. Even if you're born into all the resources and connections, you still need to make a life. And some of those make a bad life.

I'm sure it helps, but being rich is not required for a good life.

And "good" is subjective. Define yours and make it happen. That's empowerment.

@robertology @researchfairy
Fascinating how you managed to mince so many words to say so little, and 90% of it is just... Pretentious moralizing.
I could probably unpack your onion of bull but I don't have all day, sorry.
@researchfairy How much power is too much?
@researchfairy hi the extreme at the left, I’m a Synth
@researchfairy I believe in radical ideas, like a decent day's work buying a decent day's living.
@researchfairy I also have actual radical beliefs, like 100% inheritance tax and ending private ownership of land, but the difference is that I know those can never happen.
@researchfairy That sounds like only slightly left of center politics in Denmark . . .
@spring_spring @researchfairy isn't the last point basically anarchism?
