We’re trying our hands at cooking Indian food tonight. The recipe calls for coriander seeds. Thanks to years of watching #gardening YouTube I know it’s just cilantro seeds. So I raided our seed cache. Baker Creek to the rescue 😂

@User47 be carefull using gardening #seeds for #food many of the packaged seeds contain #chemicals that are #toxic ! We do not want any bad stories out there. I had some gardening seeds where one day I disovered the package had nibbling holes. Two days later I found a dead mouse. Best to buy food seeds for consumption.
@the_outliar totally agree! Baker creek doesn’t treat their seeds thankfully. I actually have some saved seed (slo-bolt, my rear!) somewhere but couldn’t find it given it’s the dead of winter 😂
@User47 Good for you. How did the recipe turn out? You could get coriander seed powder. Any Indian grocery store near by?
@Mallulady nothing nearby not to my knowledge at least. I have a ton of seed from last year’s cilantro (slo-bolt, haha yeah right. LIES! 🙄) Anyway recipe was fun and not super complex. Lots of flavors we don’t normally use. Cardamom is very unique. https://youtu.be/vDS9JZfEnuY

@User47 Great. Indian food is fun. So glad you tried. Cardamom is similar to Nutmeg. Also it may be in All Spice. We mostly use it in sweets. World is becoming small. Have a great day. 😊😊
