What the heck is going on in Jackson Mississippi? The Gov needs to resign. In August residents couldn't drink the water, now the entire community has been without water for 4 days. The water system has been neglected for years. If this wasn't a poor Black neighborhood, white outrage would have made changes to this broken system by now. #systemicracism #racism #JacksonMississippi #watercrisis #crisis #water #politics #dosomething #blackmastodon
@MinAdrianne horrible to see this happening to anyone

@MinAdrianne
This would *never* be allowed to happen in a majority white town. Never.

And we all know this disaster is going to be an excuse to blame these folks in this community or assert some kind of control over their governance.

@MinAdrianne If you ever get an opportunity to drive throufh parts of Ms., your questions will answer themselves. Go from Oxford up in the delta down to Jackson on small highways and really see that state for what it is. Then the city itself. Away from the white enclaves of north Jackson.

@MinAdrianne Punishment for Warnock.

#GeorgiaWaterCrisis

@ProvidenceDiva Georgia has issues with their water too?
Forest Park residents anxious for water service to be restored

Tuesday saw a constant stream of people coming through the Forest Park Recreation Center. City firefighters and workers have been lugging cases of bottled water, one case to each car in line.

@MinAdrianne I usually keep up the news really well and I haven't even heard about the water crisis. How the heck did this happen?
@MinAdrianne ...no. I went through this with Flint. I can't believe this is happening again in America to another Black community.
@MinAdrianne again I ask, what is the governor doing with the money the fed gov has sent them?

@MinAdrianne You're absolutely right...except for one thing.

White outrage would not have "made changes to this broken system"...white outrage would have ensure that funds were available to prop up this broken system.

American suburban sprawl is fundamentally unsustainable...sprawl itself is the broken system.

Minority and impoverished areas are allowed to fail because those with power don't care. But in the long term, this is going to happen in more and more places.

Financial Fragility Is To Blame for Jackson’s Water Crisis

The Suburban Experiment is a bad business model, and nothing demonstrates that more clearly than Jackson, Mississippi’s, ongoing water crisis.
