@bls The big thing in the U.S. is the charging networks just aren't there, except for Tesla's superchargers.
When/if those open up to other cars, or some other good network(s) actually get built out, though...
The sad thing to me is Tesla really played a big role in making this happen, put all the pieces together, but Elon is increasingly harmful to them. Not just in association, but stupid stuff like removing the parking sensors.
@hackbod True, but that could be a relatively short-term problem.
If the auto manufacturers wanted to, they could pool their resources and build a charging network for all their vehicles. Banks did this with Zelle, and Hulu started out as a JV between 3 or 4 entertainment companies.
If he starts running #Tesla the way he's running #bluebird Tesla's advantage will start to decay fairly quickly, chargers or not!
@bls The auto manufacturers could have done it a long time ago, so I give credit to Tesla for recognizing how critical the charging network is and addressing that.
Fortunately the government in stepping in to move things in the right direction, including incentives for Tesla to open up their network.
I think Elon had been increasingly running Tesla the same way (such as nobody to say no to stupid stuff), which is showing more and more.
