Myself and my mate Dennis shooting the milky way at lake Ellesmere after a workshop

Usually I'm beat after spending several hours teaching, not normally a people person but I love doing this stuff.. Still kills me..

But couldnt resist shooting this and getting Dennis in the frame on the right

@Rjdlandscapes get him on here please, we want to see his work!
Wow blown up due to a boost by @Gargron - thanks for all the comments and likes boosts everyone!
BTW Tech data - Canon 6d , ISO 6400, f2, 13 seconds a frame at 35mm. 4 rows of 10 shots, stitched in PT Gui and finished in Photoshop for a final image of 22000x9000 pixels
@Rjdlandscapes I was going to ask about exposure length etc. Thanks for providing it. Must have taken a while get that shot.
@alexproe yeah it's 20-30 min overall for an average pano if nothing funky is going on
@Rjdlandscapes The time spent getting that capture was worth it IMHO. Fabulous image! I'd have to get well out of the city to see such a sky.
@alexproe yeah this was about an hour out of Christchurch even so lots of light pollution
@Rjdlandscapes I might be able to escape the light pollution an hour or so outside Milan...by heading north into the mountains, probably. Have seen amazing skies inland from the Liguria coast. So many stars! Didn't have the gear (or ability) to capture them though. NZ may be darker than Italy!
@Rjdlandscapes this is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing ❤️
@Rjdlandscapes oh my goodness, it’s beautiful! Looks like you painted it on the screen! 🤩
@Rjdlandscapes what's that thing reflecting on the left?
@apodoxus just a star, bit of movement on the water etc makes the reflections look like that
@Rjdlandscapes I'm curious about how you made it: merged a long exposure night shot with a day shot. The foreground lighting is too even to have been done by fill flash... Please comment
--Steve
@stevehelfand no fill light , no double exposure etc just natural light on the foreground , a little moon a little light pollution
@Rjdlandscapes the other photographer seems so clear. Did he just not move for the length of the exposure?
@stevehelfand He's stood pretty still but is a little blurry at 100%
@Rjdlandscapes very nice framing, lighting, and post-processing work.
@Rjdlandscapes Holy crapola. That is STUNNING. Pictures like that never fail to leave me in awe of the wonder that is the universe. So much is out there, just floating around, waiting for us to look at it.
@feverspell Thanks Beth, and yes its both humbling and awe inspiring with the scale of just our 'little' galaxy!
@Rjdlandscapes @Gargron totally sweet - thank you for sharing

@RandoIA @Gargron
