Can I ask you something? Why are you all so hell-bent on maintaining your presence on a site overtly hostile to both you and your profession?
And in trying (begging?) to stay there, they provide content and value for a site owned by someone who can only be described as an IRL supervillain who hates them.
All to keep their blue bird check mark clout.
It’s gross.

It's a matter ofPrincipal, they are fighting to Protect Freedom of the Press, Free Speech, and ultimately Democracy!
If journalist don't fight people that try to silence journalist because they hurt their feels or to control speech Democracy would have been lost ages ago.
And that works right up until the power you’re fighting against not only has a vested interest to see you fail, but he single-handedly owns the battle field and controls the terms of engagement.
Publicly groveling for the purpose of “access journalism” is beneath journalists and those institutions that lend them credibility.
Instead of speaking truth to power like they think they are, journalists are actually conceding their power and influence in order to stay alive on HIS battlefield.
please think about all the ways your comparison is specious at best and intellectually dishonest at worst
I don’t need to be verified and ON twitter to see what’s happening on twitter.
@mattbrown @aaron @drewharwell @taylorlorenz probably not a great analogy, would be like trying to report on the war in Ukraine in Russian media. Space Karen can hold the threat of suspension over your head at any time, basically self censorship.
The twitter we knew is gone and is not coming back
@drewharwell @taylorlorenz Will we start to see journalists "walk on eggshells" when reporting on Elon and Twitter? So they can (try) avoid suspension?
Could editors push them to avoid mentioning his name in articles or headlines? Instead of "Elon Musk bans X for tweeting about Y", they have to say "Twitter bans X for violating their rule about Z"?
You need to leave Twitter. You're wasting your time and breath expecting anything good to come out of Twitter
Someone has interacted(complaining) with Musk about Taylor Lorenz. I think that was the reason.
https://twitter.com/littlemissjacob/status/1603575149524971521
“I’m not famous and I wasn’t a public figure either when Taylor Lorenz asked for my address, said it wasn’t for publication and then proceeded to dox me in the NYT with the address she had assured me she wasn’t going to publish. The article was shared many x on Twitter. @elonmusk”
Please take a principled stand and refuse to return. Going back will only extend the agony.
@drewharwell @taylorlorenz hello you both!

W Twitter I Today at 5:30 PM
When I went to log in and see if he had
responded to our query, I was suspended. I
received zero communication from the company
on why I was suspended or what terms I
violated.

@drewharwell
Twitter just suspended a competitor's
account (@joinmastodon) because it
posted a link to its own website's
version of @ElonfJet - public, legally
acquired data that Twitter decided
two days ago was against the rules.

@drewharwell @taylorlorenz This incident and how it is being handled by major news organizations in this country have caused a question to be formed in my mind:
Are news organizations being paid by Twitter to tweet?
The news organizations tepid response to blatant censorship, and their willingness to continue to tweet as if nothing shocking had just occurred makes me wonder “Do they have a financial incentive to remain?”
