Imagine being invited to a party and it's the coolest party you've ever been to. Doctors, Scientists, Photographers, Journalists, Artists of Every Type, Tech People, Chefs, Bartenders, the list goes on and on, they are all here, they brought their pets, and some really good weed and a bottle of something nice, and everyone is sharing interesting things about themselves and society.

AND Y'ALL, I'VE BEEN ON HERE A MONTH, AND NO ONE HAS SEXUALLY HARASSED ME, NOT EVEN ONCE! No MAGA dude has called me little lady and tried to explain my beliefs to me. If someone thought I was incorrect about something, they just made intelligent points about it and moved on.

Can we keep it this way, pretty pretty please?!

@RickiTarr we've definitely still got work to do - far too many White folks have been explaining how tone policing works to Black members of the community, or otherwise stepping in to say that they didn't think that microaggression was too bad. And I'm sure it's not just the Black community seeing this.

But it's a much better place overall, and one I'm willing to work to make that safe and friendly to all users.

@AmberJFrost @RickiTarr boosting to make damn sure this gets seen. I want to be called out on things I step on so I can learn. When we know better, we do better. Any aggression should not be tolerated. Just like any sexual harassment should not be tolerated. None. It feels safer here at least.

@Saralup @RickiTarr It shouldn't be a shock that women can be present as women on the fediverse and not get harassed. But it is, because harassment is the price of admission to too many spaces. This has been a blessed relief for me as well here. I don't have to worry about rape threats for having a different opinion than something.

But we also need to take that sudden feeling of freedom and do our part to make sure everyone feels the same way.

@AmberJFrost @RickiTarr when I consider how tiring it is for me to continue explaining to white ( like myself ) people to hush and listen and know that my tired is literally a grain of sand on the beach in comparison to what POC deal with my mind skates to a stop. It’s a wonder POC bother speaking to us at all.

A lemur onesie is a giant lemur suit with buttons up the front a hood with a lemur face on it and the back side has a long black-and-white tail. We also own one that looks like a sloth 3 toes and all.
