Did you know if you hold CTRL + Shift when clicking an app icon in the taskbar, it'll launch the app as admin? πŸ‘€
@JenMsft but I can't pin device manager to the taskbar. Is there a faster way than cmd as admin > devmgmt?
@JenMsft this one is huge for my workflow. Thank you!
@JenMsft Love your Windows tips! πŸͺŸ
@JenMsft do we still have the feature where if I long-press winkey, a cheat sheet of shortcuts comes up as an overlay?
@vatsan That's a powertoys feature, but yeah, that's still a thing
@JenMsft yes. But I'm old. 🀣
@JenMsft I've found this doesn't work about half the time when attempting to do so via a remote desktop connection.
@JenMsft 🀯 I live and breathe shortcuts, but that one... Thank you - much less right clicking!
@JenMsft but it's inconsistent and doesn't always work. It doesn't work within the start menu (as it did in former versions of windows)
nor does it work for the tasks in the jump list of the taskbar symbols (like profiles of the windows terminal)
@JenMsft even better it also work from the start menu. so like, <win>wt<ctrl-shift-enter> will start windows terminal in admin mode. I use it all the time
@JenMsft Don't forget wheel-click to open a new instance of an already-running program.
@JenMsft I did not know this! Thank you 😊

@JenMsft yes! It's one of the best shortcuts I've been using since Windows 8.

Thanks for sharing these!

@JenMsft You just made my life a lot easier πŸ’ͺ Does this also apply to Start Menu entries?
@OliverBraunIT In Start it's CTRL + Shift + Click (and in search it's CTRL + Shift + Enter), but TLDR yes :)
@JenMsft @OliverBraunIT AFAIK CtrlShiftEnter also works in run window (WinR) commands.
@JenMsft I can't believe I've used Ctrl+Shift for months when using Run, but never thought to use it when clicking...
Your tips are much appreciated! 😊

@JenMsft This can even be combined with the Windows key to avoid the mouse altogether.

Ctrl+Shift+Win+1 starts the first app in your task bar as admin.

@JenMsft the f**k?? 😲
