Anyone over here who knows if there's a possibility to do
#isc2 exams from home/remote?

The nearest #PearsonVue
physical exam location is >1 hour traveling by car.
Quite old-fashioned to do these type of exams in specific test locations.

Our team is finally able to present something to the public again!

I like to think of us—developers and architects—as professionals. While we don’t have formal certification processes like doctors in hospitals, that’s probably because our field evolves so quickly that no one has managed to compile a static list of requirements for all developers. But being a professional goes beyond maintaining high standards, knowing your craft, and continuously investing in your knowledge and (soft) skills. (cont'd)
If they suggest bypassing code reviews to merge a pull request immediately, challenge it. If they downplay a critical vulnerability in a dependency, challenge that too, and ensure there’s a plan to address it. This doesn’t mean you need to be a stubborn developer. It means taking your responsibilities as a professional seriously, understanding the circumstances behind requests, and agreeing only if there’s a reliable plan to resolve any concerns promptly. Working with #CopilotStudio is great to get your initial #GenerativeAI ideas going on.

I've used it to create my personal knowledge base, so I can ask questions to it and it comes with solutions I've already written about in the past.
It's 100 times better as search and really easy to set up by just about everyone.

Create your own Knowledge Base with Copilot Studio

I like creating complex solutions for simple problems just as much as every other engineer. That’s why I have dozens of side-projects going on where I’m trying out stuff. During my day job, I try to provide as much value to the customer/business with the most simple, most performant and cheapest solution I can think of. That’s where Copilot Studio comes into play. You’ve probably read a ton of posts and articles about bring-your-own-data, RAG, finetuning LLMs, etc.

Me, done with a new blogpost: Commit, push, automatically starting a #GitHub Action
GH Action: Error! You're using old stuff over here, not compatible with latest runners.
Me to GH Copilot: Please update this action to the latest state, so it'll work again.
GH #Copilot: Sure, here's an updated version that should work.
Me: Reviews, commit, push, GH Action works and publishes latest changes

Copilot just saved me quite some time researching what needs upgrading. Even suggested improvements.

"Certifying people in DevOps is like celebrating their graduation from kindergarten. "Congratulations! You learned not to eat the crayons and to play nicely with the other children!""

Amazing quote from an insightful article by Bridget Kromhout in #acmqueue about #devops, #containers, and how #technology won't fix your people problems (nor should you try to use it that way).

Not sure who posted it last week, but thank you for mentioning utterances & giscus!

I'm now using giscus (https://giscus.app/) on my blog. Integration is super easy and it's working like a charm!

While configuring my personal PC to be donated to my 8yo, I discovered the CMOS battery had died.
I've replaced the battery just now and everything is still working 🎉
