There’s a new wave of pachyderms on #Mastodon thanks to another round of the #TwitterMigration. Welcome to the #Fediverse! 👋

You’re going to like it here.

With a few exceptions (just block them) this is a pretty friendly place. @feditips is a good follow to get started.

I’m glad you’re here.

@Sheril Thanks for the welcome message. I'm getting reacquainted with Mastodon. The last time that I was "here" was after Google+ imploded. My old pluspora server has vanished so I created a new account and now I find myself relearning everything that I knew once-upon-a-time

@azemon @Sheril Wow, I haven't heard anyone mention Google+ in years. I was rooting for it. RIP

Welcome!

@dbsalk @Sheril Yup. Google+ was a good place. I miss it. Twitter never did it for me. Maybe Mastodon will. The groups were really nice over there.

@dbsalk @azemon Ah Google+…

@Sheril @azemon Amazing. If it makes you feel better, I'm winless betting on football this season. 🙄😉

There's so much to unpack with that article! I feel like Google had a good concept, but maybe the timing and execution was a little off. As I recall, nobody was really clamoring for a new social media network in 2011. I wonder if Google+ would be more successful in 2022 with the #twittermigration.
