Recently I showed you Persian Dreams, a blanket made of knitted colourwork hexagons. Today I found something similar and equally beautiful, but crocheted. So if hooks are more your thing, but you want to make a colourwork blanket of hexagons, feast your eyes (and yarn) on this! @AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn Love the texture on these. Wish I could crochet.

It's a hexagon kind of year. I finished a small throw quilt of hexies and while my sewing machine was being fixed I started hand sewing some for a shopping bag. Very therapeutic.

@AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn I don't #crochet, but this is the sort of thing that makes me want to. LOVE the color scheme, LOVE the geometric texturedness of it. I like that I can work on #knitting projects without looking at them so I can watch TV or have a conversation at the same time, and not being able to imagine doing this with crochet is what keeps me from trying it. Seems you would have to look to find where to put the hook in next, right?
@holly @AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn this is where a good audiobook comes in 😉
@AsYetYarns @SolaceInStitches @holly yes! I’ve been into audiobooks for years but have probably tripled my listening since learning to crochet!
@LauraInDakota @AsYetYarns @SolaceInStitches Ha! I'm actually a big podcast fan, as in I can't do a chore without listening to one, and if I'm doing some intricate 2-color brioche, yep, podcast. Unfortunately with my #ADHD my brain switches focus a lot so I tend to get lost listening to audiobooks -- but it somehow doesn't matter for podcasts? But anyway, if I'm making something the size of a blanket I want it to be in my TV watching category rather than my audio entertainment category.
@holly @crochet @yarn I imagine you would for the colourwork. Can you knit colourwork without looking? I’m well impressed if you can!
@AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn Not if I can help it :) Although I do do some 2-color brioche, but that's definitely in the minority of must-look-at class of projects.
@holly @crochet @yarn I did some two colour brioche for the first time this year. I have to say I actually found it rhythmic and relaxing! And the fabric it makes is stunning and so squishy!

This is funny to me as I think the same thing about knitting! I can't imagine being able to knit without having to look where as crochet is easier for me and easier to hide any mistakes 🙂

@holly @AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn My grandmother used to crochet with thin cotton thread in the cinema. Of course, she'd been doing it since age six. She had childhood rheumatoid arthritis and was losing the use of her hands and crocheting was what passed for therapy in the early 1900's.
@AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn oooh this is amazing and thanks for sharing.
@AsYetYarns @crochet @yarn adds brioche to the list of things to learn in 2023 #crochet
@crochet @yarn @AsYetYarns *whispers umm what's the difficulty level?
@bushbark @crochet @yarn I have to be honest … I don’t know! I haven’t made this pattern. I can say that knitted brioche wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. I work on the assumption that crochet brioche won’t be either. If you try it, can you let me know?!
