I visited a garden today that I’ve been going to for over 50 years, and thought it would always be accessible. But it’s been sold and may be developed. I took a ton of photos, as it could very well be the last time I see the place. Everything looked so beautiful to me, like I was seeing for the first time, instead of the last. For some reason, I burst into tears when I saw this tree trunk. Bittersweet.

@stovallatticus Thanks. Many of us who love this garden are hoping that the buyer just keeps the garden intact, even if they close it to visitors. This is in Portland, Oregon, and it’s rare to have a garden like this with plantings over 100 yrs old.
