Here is the MASTODON MEDIA LIST, a resource I am curating which is listing media outlets' fediverse accounts. (Update 14 December: Now on Google Docs because my WordPress is choking.)

Submissions welcome! Please let me know if there's anything wrong or anything I missed!

Fairly large addition this week so I'm going to summarise it:
— 8 journals published by @cellpress
— 5 journals published by @Co_Biologists
— 4 journals published by @EMBOPress
— 2 journals published by @PLOS
— a number of other academic journals
— a number of other popular outlets
Regarding the status of the List: I haven't updated it in a while because as you can see it's hosted on my WordPress and unfortunately the page is now large enough (not even that large!) that when I try to edit it, it lags to the point of unusability. Until I find a fix for this, I'm replacing it with a Google Doc containing the same info.

I made the decision that news *generators* (common primary sources, such as government agencies, politicians, some NGOs) *also* count for the purposes of this list, so today's update was pretty freaking huge.

OK it's quickly become apparent to me that if I keep tagging them all individually I'm going to hit the rate limit rapidly and repeatedly enough to piss off my instance admin real quick, so here's a summary:
— several Australian Senators (vacillating on adding actual individual politicians, we'll see)
— several universities
— all of social.bund.de (i.e., the official Mastodon presence of the Federal Republic of Germany and some of the German states)
— all of social.network.europa.eu (i.e., the official Mastodon presence of the European Union and some of its related bodies)
Have just become aware of @ZhiZhu's excellent list! I wasn't sure of the etiquette. I figured it was okay to swipe some of the information because it was public domain, but have cited each instance and provided footnote links back to where I got it. Here is ZhiZhu's list in case you'd like to follow the evolution of that one too: https://newsie.social/@ZhiZhu/109535917701223440

Big shout out to Australian political action group Voices of Wentworth @VoicesofWentworth, who made this list from which I was able to make an addition to my own list (I made sure to add a citation in a footnote) :) https://onedrive.live.com/view.aspx?resid=369AA47C62E1718C!6618&ithint=file%2cdocx&authkey=!AA9uOZVzTZs_bPI

Owing to its apparently increasing favourability toward the transphobic politics suffusing the British media environment, Yorkshire Bylines (@YorksBylines) now has a visible "hostile source" tag on it so that people who might like to follow it can go in fully informed.
@epistemophagy Do they just tow both progressive and regressive lines or something? The first article I see on their feed is basically a mother writing, "don't you fucking dare 'debate' my trans daughter's right to exist". The second is, " you can't be progressive while helping oppress trans people. Pick one." What am I missing?

@epistemophagy

That's cool. How do you do that?

@epistemophagy

In my opinion, information that is posted publicly (in a non-copyrighted manner) is meant to be shared. Glad you found the list useful.

@epistemophagy any history, political science, or international relations journals?
We do! But maybe not as often as we could.
We also have a presence on the bird app, on Facebook, some of us do Instagram, podcasts, YouTube.. And then there are articles to write after the necessary research has been done, edit review and proof, upload to the website..
Not enough hours in the day really!
